Program: Gibbon File Changer - GibbChg.EXE
Package: gcpchg10.zip Platform: OS/2
Released: September 6, 1994 Version: 1.0
Class: Utility Status: Shareware
Cost: $5.00 Volume Discounts: Yes
Description:
Have you ever wanted a utility program that would change all
occurances of "C:\TOOLKT21" to "D:\TOOLKT21" in your CONFIG.SYS
file? How about changing your address on a dozen form letters
when you move? Or even patching a data file that can't be
edited with a text editor?
If you answered "Yes!" to any of these, or thought of other
similar situations, then Gibbon File Changer (GibbChg) is just
the tool you need.
GibbChg is a utility used to change ASCII or binary data in
files. It will replace all occurances of a string with a
replacement string.
The file can be given as a specific file name, or it can be
a wild-card, allowing changes to multiple files. Giving a
-S command line switch will go through subdirecories as well
looking for all files that match.

Program: Gibbon PGP Front-End - GCPPGPFE.EX
Package: gcppgp10.zip Platform: OS/2
Released: November 27, 1994 Version: 1.0
Class: Utility Status: EMail-ware
Cost: $0.00 Volume Discounts: No
Description:
The Gibbon PGP Front-End is an E language macro that creates a
PGP menu on the EPM menu bar. This allows menued use of PGP
whenever you are using the EPM editor. Since both NewsReader/2
and LAMail use EPM, this will allow seamless integration of PGP
into your Newsreader and E-Mail.
The PGP Front-End is designed to be used with MIT PGP 2.6.x.
It should also be usable with PGP 2.3a and ViaCrypt PGP 2.7
though these have not been tested.
Just about anything that can be done using PGP from the command
line, can be done through the PGP menu. You can encrypt, sign,
decrypt, check signatures, add keys to keyrings, view keyrings in
various formats, export public keys and fingerprints, and other
functions. If you're using OS/2 and PGP, you NEED this utility!

Program: Gibbon Talk
Package: gcptlk11.zip Platform: OS/2
Released: August 19, 1995 Version: 1.1
Class: TCP/IP Application Status: Shareware
Cost: $25.00 Volume Discounts: Yes
Description:
This package contains three programs that work together: Gibbon Talk,
Gibbon Talk Daemon, and Gibbon Common Logon Manager.
Gibbon Talk is a program that is compatible with ntalk on Unix systems.
It allows you to have a real-time interactive chat with someone else
on the internet or on a local TCP/IP based network. It is a graphical
(PM) application that has many features not included with most talk
programs, including a large scrollback buffer, the ability to capture
conversations to a disk file or a printer, copy and paste, a quick-list
containing addresses of people you previously talked to, and integrated
ping, finger and host lookup. The host lookup feature provides output
similar to that of nslookup or dig.
The four main window sections (local header, local text, remote header
and remote text) are all independantly user-configurable for fonts and
colors using drag-n-drop from the OS/2 system pallettes. Interaction
with configuration and control functions are through context-sensitive
pop-up menus.
Gibbon Talk Daemon is the talk daemon that runs in the background
waiting for an incoming talk request. When a talk request comes in,
it pops up a message box that notifies you of the request and who the
request is from. The message box has "Yes" and "No" buttons. If you
press the "Yes" button, Gibbon Talk (the talk client) is started up
and will connect to the other person.
It is configurable using a notebook control. You can tell it to
notify you of an incoming talk request by one of three different types
of beeps from your computer speaker, or using sound files. You can
also have it log all incoming and outgoing talk requests. A History
list contains the same information as the log, but only for requests
that have happened since Gibbon Talk Daemon was started.
The Gibbon Common Logon Manager comes standard will all TCP/IP programs
from Gibbon Computer Products, Inc. It provides a single point that all
the applications can go to in order to find out who you are, and if
you're available. If you use the SLIP/PPP dialer that comes with
Warp's Internet Access Kit, the Common Logon Manager is able to
automatically figure out your user id when you connect to the Internet.
It also incorporates an Ident Daemon.
The Gibbon Common Logon Manager allows programs like Gibbon Talk and
the Gibbon Finger Daemon to be able to find out who you are, instead
of requiring you to set environment variables, or be satisfied with
simply being "os2user". This is a unique solution, provided first (and
only) by Gibbon Computer Products, Inc.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Program: Gibbon Finger
Package: gcpfng10.zip Platform: OS/2
Released: August 19, 1995 Version: 1.0
Class: TCP/IP Application Status: Shareware
Cost: $30.00 (Varies) Volume Discounts: Yes
Description:
This package contains three programs that work together: Gibbon Finger,
Gibbon Finger Daemon, and Gibbon Common Logon Manager.
Gibbon Finger is a graphical (PM) finger program with many features,
including quick lists, scrollable windows that show the results, and
the ability to copy the output to the clipboard, a file, or a printer.
The results of the finger request is displayed in a separate window.
You can have multiple results showing, either in separate windows, or
one after the other in a single window. The fonts and colors for the
results windows can be configured using drag-n-drop from the OS/2
system Font and Color palettes.
The Gibbon Finger Daemon is a combination of two programs. The setup
program is a graphical (PM) program that you can use to fully customize
the response to a query. You can include custom messages before and
after the actual response, and you can include plan and project files.
The daemon itself is a text-mode application. It receives incoming
queries, and formats the response based on your preferences as you have
set them up using the setup program. It can be started manually and
be constantly running, or you can have it start from INETD.
