  1. FORLOG.EXE is a simple little dumb,
  2. but helpful utility to keep a modem
  3. internet connection alive by forever
  4. trying to log into a bogus host.
  5.  
  6. I know, it sounds stupid, but if you
  7. have an internet provider whose system
  8. kicks you off after a period of no
  9. activity, FORLOG will help keep your
  10. blood pressure down. Particularly if
  11. you get kicked off when you are in the
  12. middle of composing a post on-line.

  14. To use forlog, copy the rxftp.dll to
  15. a directory in your dll path, like
  16. c:\os2\dll. Place forlog in whatever
  17. directory you want. You can run it
  18. from an os2 window, or give it an
  19. os2 icon and run it from the desktop.
  20. I set it up to run minimized so that
  21. I don't have to watch it run through
  22. its dumb loop to keep me connected.
  23. Actually, I have moved forlog to my
  24. startup folder...run it and forget it!
  25. Fortunately, forlog puts nearly 0
  26. strain on the cpu. At least that's
  27. what my load monitor tells me.
