FFeMail Revision List
1/16/00 0.74 Fixed problem which caused the newly forwarded
message to have the same contents as the last
forwarded message (Kind of like the movie "Ground
Hog Day").
Created eMail discussion list. Send message to
Majrdomo@NerdWorld.org with the phrase "subscribe
FFeMailList" in the BODY of the message.
Note: This list is "open" and non-secure.
12/24/99: 0.71 Code-pounding on Christmas Eve, with Andy Williams
singing in the background!
Fixed "no delete" problem caused by changing the
log-off sequence. (Had been logging off the POP3
server, then trying to delete the message.... not
too smart!)
Changed the way the number of messages is determined.
This makes the program more forgiving of various POP3
servers (and actually makes it compliant with RFC 1939.)
12/23/99: 0.7 Fix for duplicate message numbers.
(Messages had been saved in files based on the
mail server's message number. Some servers
duplicate message numbers. Now use sequential
numbers.)
Unsuccessful fix to speed up communication.
(How can I tell that the TCP/IP socket is finished
sending data? Right now, I just wait for a second
or 2, then give up. Some replies, such as to a
"LIST" command, can give either single or multiple
line responses.)
Removed the restriction for no more than a 60-minute
sleep time. Now is unlimited.
Added "X-Forwarder" line to message, which advertises
usage of FFemail (& my copyright), and also adds the
date & time of forwarding. (This is only visible if
you look at the headers, so it's not too obtrusive.)
Log off the POP3 server as soon as all the messages
been fetched. Previously, it logged off the POP3
and SMTP servers at the same time, after all the
messages had been sent. Occasionally, the POP3
server would time out, and then the log-off would
fail <sigh>.
12/18/99: 0.6 First Release to Hobbes & Web page
