  23.     1. What is the EmTec Network Suite (ENS) and EmTec FTP (EFTP)?
  24.   -------------------------------------------------------------------------

  26.   EmTec Network Suite is a set of tools for improving access to the 
  27.   Internet from your OS/2 desktop.  It offers a full featured
  28.   newsreader, FTP and Gopher clients.  This suite of programs was 
  29.   previously known as the Neologic Network Suite.

  31.   Prior versions of the Network Suite sold under the NeoLogic name
  32.   contained an FTP server licensed from Hethmon Brothers software.
  33.   For information on support and upgrades for the FTP server
  34.   component which is no longer included in the suite contact Paul

  39.     2. Installation
  40.   -------------------------------------------------------------------------

  42.   1. Unzip the distribution file EFTP.ZIP to a temporary directory
  43.      Make sure you unpack with subdirectories.
  44.      Example:
  45.          unzip EFTP.ZIP
  46.      or
  47.          pkunzip -d EFTP.ZIP
  48.  
  49.   2. Switch to the directory in which you unzipped EFTP.ZIP
  50.      and run INST.EXE.
  51.  
  52.   3. Follow the on-screen instructions.  
  53.      
  54.      If you select 'Install...' the installation program will copy the
  55.      EmTec FTP files to the specified directory and create an EmTec
  56.      Network Suite folder on your desktop.
  57.         
  58.      If you select the 'Upgrade...' option the installation program
  59.      will try to install new EmTec FTP files in the directory where your
  60.      EmTec Network Suite has been installed and will create an EmTec 
  61.      FTP V5.0 object in the EmTec Network Suite folder.

  63.      Note: The Installation program will not delete your old version 
  64.      of EmTec FTP because the new version requires a different
  65.      directory structure.

  67.      After you verified that the new version is working to your
  68.      satisfaction, you may safely delete the .\ftp\ftp.exe file from
  69.      your Network Suite directory.  Of course, you may also have dual
  70.      installations if you wish to maintain a previous version.

  72.   4. Once the installation is complete you may run the EmTec FTP
  73.      client from the EmTec Network Suite folder.   Restarting your
  74.      computer is not necessary.

  82.   The EmTec Network Suite is distributed exclusively by BMT Micro in the 
  83.   U.S.  When you are connected to the internet you can order through the 
  84.   Purchase EmTec FTP v5.0 application (PURCHASE.EXE), which will encrypt 
  85.   and  transfer your order  directly  to BMT Micro.  Alternately you can 
  86.   fill out and print the order form text (ORDER.FRM)  and mail or fax it 
  87.   to BMT.

  92.     4. Improvements and Bug Fixes for this Release

  95.   This new version offers the following key features (see the file
  96.   VERSIONS.DOC for a more detailed list of improvements).

  98.   * Downloading/Uploading files or whole directories using simple drag and
  99.     drop actions.
  100.  
  101.   * Passive FTP mode which allows the client to work behind firewalls
  102.     and systems which use IP masquerading.
  103.  
  104.   * Reconnect feature which is useful when your connection is slow.
  105.  
  106.   * The user friendly interface has been further enhanced based on user
  107.     suggestions.
