  3. You may try this software for 4 weeks at no charge.

  5. After that period you MUST register your copy or stop using it, if you
  6. are a University or School using this software for a NON PROFIT
  7. purpose then you can register for free.  
  8.  
  9. Schools or Universities may still wish to register for a support contract.
  10.  
  11. Full version with unlimited user access and 1 years email help     US$485 
  12. Lite version with limited user access and 1 years email help     US$222
  13. School or University using DNEWS with email support and updates US$350
  14. Extending support and updates for 12 months             US$350
  15. Priority support with remote assistance for 12 months         US$2950

  21. Use the command: 
  22.         tellnews register 
  23. to register electronically. The easiest method of payment is with Visa.
  24.  
  25. Standard Support includes: 
  26.     Email advice on installation configuration and management.
  27.     New versions of the software during the supported period.
  28.     This level of support is recommended when you have some technical
  29.     expertise in house but do not have years of experience running
  30.     news software. Response will vary depending on your timezone but 
  31.     in general all messages are responded to by the next working day. 
  32.  
  33. Priority Support includes: 
  34.     Standard support plus direct telnet support on your machine 
  35.     if/when requested. In addition your problems will be given 
  36.     priority when multiple fault calls are waiting.  This level of 
  37.     support is recommended for commercial customers who cannot afford 
  38.     any down time.  Basically with this support, we drop what we are 
  39.     doing and work on your problem.

  41.     In future support may be moved from NetWin to a nominated 
  42.     company specializing in this service.
  43.  
  44. License life time
  45.     The license to continue using your version of the software
  46.     does not expire with your support contract. However if you wish
  47.     to run new versions after the 1 year period then you must purchase
  48.     a new license or take up a support contract.

  50. Source
  51.     Source is available, but for commercial reasons we require    
  52.     a statement of non-competition and non re-distribution before
  53.     making it available. We appologize for the inconvenience this 
  54.     may cause. We reserve the right to refuse to give out source 
  55.     in some cases.

  57.     Source is made available to make the following possible.
  58.         1) Customers to port to various unix platforms 
  59.         2) Checking for virus'es etc
  60.         3) Enhancements and bug fixing by technically 
  61.            inclined customers.

  63.     A statement as described above should be emailed to 
  64.     netwin@world.std.com, together with a full physical address 
  65.     and other relevant details including company name, personal name, 
  66.     fax and phone numbers.  Again we appologize for any inconvenience 
  67.     this may cause.

  69. Porting
  70.     We will port to any unix'ish platform on request for 
  71.     a fee, however porting is usually fairly trivial and we are happy
  72.     to give advice to anyone attempting this on their own.  Please send
  73.     us any changes you make and we will include these changes in future
  74.     releases to save yourself and others more work.

  76. How to register?
  77.         Open DOS Window (or from shell prompt)
  78.         tellnews register
  79.     This will ask a few questions and then create a file REGISTER.TXT
  80.     which you then email to:      netwin@world.std.com
  81.     You will recieve an email reply confirming your registration or 
  82.     license or support contract depending on which options you selected.

  84.     The confirmation will also include your registration key which will
  85.     disable the registration reminder notices. If your key was
  86.     ax343acd3, then to enter it you would type:
  87.         $ tellnews key ax343acd3
  88.  
  89.         We require payment before issuing a permanent license key.  Payment by
  90.     Visa, Mastercard or American Express is preferred.
