  2. There are probably CSD's you will want for tcp/ip.  See below.

  5. Fixpak 26 does not contain any updates to any networking components of Warp  Connect.  Fixpak UN00959 is the lastest TCP/IP fixpak.

It is available in  ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ps/products/tcpip/fixes/v3.1/un00959 (don't bother  to cut and paste that since I did it from memory, just follow the  directories).  For some reason un00959 is not also listed in v3.0 directory  even though it is for it.  un00959 supercedes un00067.

  9. Notice for anybody who installs un00959, it will backlevel DIALER and  WebExplorer unless you click NO for all the files that it says has a later  date than the fixpak.

  16. OS/2 tcp/ip is signigicantly better in Warp Connect than plain Warp. OS/2 4.0 tcpip is best.
  17. I really have to update these locations, but if you get to the correct place on the
  18. internet, maybe:

  20. You will see directories for sendmail, tcpip stack, DHCP, lpr (printing), etc...
  21. For the tcpip stack itself, you want to go to tcpip and then to the version of tcpip
  22. you have.  They seem to correlate to the version of OS/2.  tcpip 3.x for OS/2 3.x,
  23. tcpip 4.x for OS/2 4.x, etc...

  26. Now, with OS/2 4.0 I think things should work with no fixpaks.  Neither for OS/2 nor tcpip.
  27. I hope you got the right fixes for tcpip.  Did you get them for tcpip v4.0? (for OS/2 4.0)
  28. I think they are ic16063 and ic17122.
  29. Now there are newer ones.

  31. Fixpak 1 for OS/2 works fine for me.  There are now fixpaks 2 and 3.  I obviously took 3.
  32. My reboot seems to shut down the filesystems but not reboot. I don't like fixpak 3.

  34. If you have Warp Connect there are also 2 new fixpaks for the MPTS and the TCP/IP.

  37. and the one for tcp/ip which is UN00067.

  65. If you have OS/2 Warp plain:

  67. We had OS/2 Warp plain and it would not even let us do a dir on a mounted
  68. sun drive with fixes and I think even then I had to play with it to get it
  69. to work.  There are network printer problems as well using the \PIPE\LPDx.  It did not even work!
  70. The other thing you could not do is connect to Advantis thru a remote connected modem (with OS/2 Peer).

  85. The server is generally what you need.  It almost sounds backwards unless you
  86. think about what's going on.  But an X windows program is a client and you
  87. need the server to run it.

  90. NFS Kit

  92. The latest I heard from Indelible Blue here is that they stopped selling NFS
  93. but are still selling PMX.
  94. Then I called IBM PC DIRECT and they are doing just the opposite.  They are
  95. not selling PMX, but are still selling NFS.  They said they stopped selling
  96. multi-license NFS, but are still selling it as singles.

  100. It contains the client to let you mount exported hard drives from other systems.
  101. These are nfsctl.exe and nfsstart.exe (which start nfsctl I believe).

  103. It also contains an NFS server called nfsd.exe
  104. So you can do both!

  106. You want fixes for NFS as well.  UN57064 might be a fix number for this.

  112. After I found those files ( I had looked under tcpip 4.0 at first, they are
  113. under tcpip 2.0 ) I see they have something called an NFSLATEST FIX.
  114. It has a client and a server. There are also 2 newer pmx fixes.
  115. It looks like the previous nfsd.exe says it was done (31 May 1994) or (Feb 06 1995)
  116. while the new one is (Jun 17 1996)

  118. The NFS kit downrev.s an important file.  That file is x:\mptn\dll\tcpipdll.dll
  119. It archives it to: [C:\tcpip\archive\dll], but if you installed a csd you might
  120. have archived over it again and it might be gone.  If you need it ask me to email it.
  121. I install NFS kit into the default directory, that is not a problem.

  132. Even though nfsd.exe worked under Warp Connect 3.0 after I installed the
  133. fixpak 22, it started getting a lot of the ............  Purged [90ns]
  134. ........ garbage
  135. and was hanging up.  No fun when people see your OS/2 server dieing all the
  136. time!

  138. I installed the newer nfsd.exe on my Warp 4.0 pc and it seems to work!
  139. In fact I needed the NFSLATEST to make NFS work under Warp 4.0

  141. I also installed it on our Warp Connect 3.0 server and I noticed that it
  142. works better than the previous ones.
  143. Instead of getting the looping ........Purging [90ns]............. message
  144. and locking up all the users it does the following:
  145. This happened when we did a find command on a sun in an os/2 mounted drive.
  146. The find eventually died with an error when it did this but at least the 
  147. whole server did not die like before!

  184. You might want to get the latest OS/2 fixpak.  As of the middle of August
  185. 1996 there is a new fixpak #26.  They might have a fixpak 29 by now? (Sep,03,1997)
