DESCRIPTION:
The included SLIPPM.EXE is a modified version of the "Dial Other Internet
Providers" application. The only change is a "cleaned up" interface.
Specifically, I:
- Aligned the "Status" section with the other sections in the dialog.
- Changed the font of the "Status" window to 8 point Courier.
- Fixed the alignment of the "Login ID" and "Description" headers.
- Widened the "Dial Prefix" field.
- Changed the font of "Dial", "Add Entry", "Modify Entry", "Remove Entry",
"Dial Prefix", "Time Online", and "Total Time Online" text to 10 point
Helv.
- Added a space before and after the "Status" and "Current Connection" titles.
This is so the borders don't run right into the title.
- Moved "Time Online" and "Total Time Online" information to span the bottom
of the "Current Connection" section.
- Changed colors of "Time Online" information to green on black. This makes
this information stand out.
INSTALLATION:
1. Make a backup copy of SLIPPM.EXE from your \TCPIP\BIN directory.
2. Copy the SLIPPM.EXE from this package to your \TCPIP\BIN directory.
DISCLAIMER:
Use of this program is at your own risk. You will certainly not be
supported by IBM. If you run into any problem, switch back to your backup
copy of SLIPPM.EXE (you did make a backup, right?). I will not be held
liable for any damage resulting in the use of this application. With that
said, I can see no way that this modified version will cause any problem
with functionality of the program.
NOTE:
I used the free Resource Manager package from Martin Lafaix to extract the
dialog and IBM's Dialog Editor to make the changes. The changes were made
to revision 1.16 of SLIPPM.EXE.
