  3. Pardon the brevity, but I'm not much of a tech manual author.

  5. I'd also like to apologize for the previous file that was in error.
  6. No excuse, but I had been writing and testing all night and got the
  7. versions mixed up.

  10. Steps to connect to CRIS via Warp IAK software:
  11.  
  12. 1.  Get an access number from CRIS Customer Service 1-800-745-2747.
  13.     
  14.     You'll need to dial that number with a comm program to get
  15.     your account setup before going any further.
  16.  
  17. 2.  Copy LOGNCRIS.CMD to your /tcpip/bin directory.
  18.     *** If you use a port other than COM2, edit this line in LOGNCRIS.CMD:
  19.     'mode.com COM2,,,,,,DTR=ON'
  20.     
  21. 3.  Start the 'Dial Other Provider' session by double clicking on the icon.
  22.  
  23. 4.  Select Add Provider
  24.  
  25. 5.  Provider Name= CRIS
  26.     Login ID= Your account login name
  27.     Password= the password you use for CRIS
  28.     Nickname= CRIS
  29.     Phone Number= Your local access number
  30.     Login Script= logncris.cmd 555-1212 loginname@slip password
  31.                                 (USE YOUR INFO IN THESE PLACES)
  32.     Connection Type= SLIP
  33.    
  34. 6.  Click on Next
  35.  
  36. 7.  MTU Size= 1500
  37.     Domain Nameserver= 199.3.12.3
  38.     Your Host Name= voyager
  39.     Your Domain Name= cris.com
  40.     
  41. 8.  Click on Next
  42.  
  43. 9.  All Servers (News, Gopher, WWW, & POP)= deathstar.cris.com                             
  44.     Reply Domain= cris.com
  45.     Reply (Mail) ID= loginname
  46.     POP Login ID= loginname
  47.     POP Password= password
  48.     
  49. 10. Click on Next
  50.  
  51. 11. Select your Com Port and Speed of your port.  The port speed will
  52.     probably be 57600 or 38400.  If you know differently, do it.

  54. 12. Click on OK
  55.  
  56. 13. Click on Dial.

  58. 14. This script will attempt to dial into CRIS 5 times.

  61. Hope this is useful to you.  I know I am using the Internet more and more now
  62. that OS/2 included Internet tools that are some of the best around.  Ultimail
  63. Lite has many bugs in it however, so I'm currently using Eudora for my
  64. E-Mail.
