  1. To establish a PPP connection through 
  2. CompuServe, you must have Warp's Internet 
  3. Access Kit (IAK) installed on your machine.  
  4. You must also have the PPP update installed 
  5. which you can ftp from ftp.ibm.net as 
  6. /pub/PPP/PPP.ZIP or you can download the file 
  7. from the OS/2 USERS forum (GO OS2USER) in 
  8. library 20 with the filename $PP.ZIP.

  12. Once you have the PPP update installed, you 
  13. need to open the Dial Other Internet 
  14. Providers object in the Internet Utilities 
  15. folder. Then choose the Add Entry object, or 
  16. select Add Entry from the Configure pull-down 
  17. menu, then configure dialer as follows:

  25.   - In the Name: field, type CIS or PPP or 
  26. some other "name" for
  27.  
  28.     this connection.

  30.   - In the Description: field, enter a

  36. following substituting

  38.     your User ID for 70006,101.

  50. enter the dial up

  53. CompuServe.

  91.   - Set the MRU (Maximum Receive Unit) to

  100.   - Enter compuserve.com in the Your Domain

  121. baud rate, data bits

  128. to close the settings notebook and choose 
  129. SAVE.  Then to establish your PPP connection, 
  130. select the NAME of the connection and choose 
  131. DIAL.  You will then see the initialization 
  132. of the modem, the dialing, the logging in, 
  133. and you should see the following  messages in 
  134. the Status Window:

  153. When you see the above message, then the 
  154. connection is complete. You must leave the 
  155. dialer running while you have the PPP 
  156. connection active. You may want to minimize 
  157. the dialer after the connection is 
  158. established.
