  6. Welcome to Changi, a newsserver for OS/2.

  8. This file contains information you need to install Changi, and
  9. additional information not included in the product documentation.

  24. Before You Install Changi
  25. -------------------------

  27.    Changi for OS/2 must be installed on a drive formatted with HPFS.
  28.    It cannot run on FAT-formatted drives.
  29.  
  30.    To run Changi for OS/2, you need OS/2 Warp version 3.0, 4.0, or
  31.    OS/2 Warp Server and one of the following items:
  32.  
  33.     - TCP/IP 4.0, which is part of OS/2 Warp 4.0.
  34.  
  35.     - TCP/IP 3.0, which is part of OS/2 Warp Connect and OS/2 Warp
  36.       Server. If you're running Warp Server, consider to install
  37.       a fix for APAR IC12289, which should be available at
  38.

  41.     - Internet Connection, which is part of all versions of OS/2 Warp.
  42.       If you're running Internet Connection included in Warp 3.0,
  43.       you should install a fix for APAR PN71501. This fix is available at

  47.     - TCP/IP 2.0 with the latest CSD applied. To the time of this writing,
  48.       the latest CSD level is UN64092, available at

  60.    To view the manual, you need a web browser, WebExplorer, Netscape
  61.    Navigator or any similar product will be sufficient.

  127. Installing Changi
  128. -----------------

  130.    If you received this product as a single Zip file, unzip it to
  131.    an empty directory. If you're using PKUNZIP, specify option -d,
  132.    to have the files unzipped into directories. Do not unzip into
  133.    a directory with a space in its name.
  134.  
  135.    Change the current directory to the directory containing INSTALL.EXE.
  136.  
  137.    Issue the following command:
  138.  
  139.      INSTALL
  140.  
  141.    Instructions on how to configure Changi can be found in the accompanied
  142.    documentation, which is given in HTML format. You need a web browser
  143.    for viewing these files.

  145.    Start viewing changi.html.

  148. Late-Breaking News
  149. ------------------

  151.    This version includes an installation utility to simplify the
  152.    installation process. Anyway, you must follow the steps in the
  153.    manual describing how to configure Changi.
  154.  
  155.    A Java version of Chanco has been included into this package, which
  156.    had been successfully tested with the build-in Java support of OS/2
  157.    Warp 4.0.

  159.    To start JavaChanco on the OS/2 platform, enter
