  8. What This Diskette Does
  9. -----------------------
  10. The Video Features Diskette I for OS/2 provides drivers to:
  11.  - Improve the drawing performance on the display
  12.  - Provide a resolution up to 1024x768
  13.  - Provide various color depths: 256, 64K, or 16M
  14.  
  15. The following models are supported:
  16.    - ThinkPad 365X and 365XD
  17.    - ThinkPad 760C, 760CD, 760L, and 760LD
  18.    - ThinkPad 760E (see note 1), 760EL (see note 2) and 760ELD
  19.  
  20.    Notes:
  21.      1. For ThinkPad 760E system users:
  22.         If your display (LCD) supports SVGA (800x600), install
  23.         this diskette.
  24.  
  25.      2. For ThinkPad 760EL system users:
  26.         If the machine type is 9547-x4G, 9547-x4K or 9547-x4T, do NOT
  27.         install this diskette.  Instead, install the Video Features
  28.         Diskette II for OS/2.

  204. Installation Guide
  205. ------------------
  206.  
  207. <Preparation>
  208. If you are reinstalling the display driver in a system that already has
  209. an old version of that driver installed, do the following:
  210. If not, skip this procedure.
  211.  
  212. 1. Turn on the computer and start OS/2.
  213. 2. When a small white box appears in the upper left corner of the
  214.    screen, press Alt+F1.
  215. 3. When the Recovery Choices screen appears:
  216.    - In Warp Version 3: press V.
  217.    - In Warp Version 4: press F3.
  218. 4. Shut down OS/2 after the VGA driver is installed.
  219. 5. Turn off the computer.
  220.  
  221. <Installation>
  222. 1. Turn on the computer and start OS/2.
  223. 2. Set the display device to LCD only.
  224. 3. Insert the ThinkPad Video Features Diskette I for OS/2 into
  225.    the diskette drive.
  226. 4. Open an OS/2 window or a full-screen command prompt.
  227. 5. Type A: at the command prompt and press Enter.
  228. 6. Type INSTALL at the A:\> prompt and press Enter:
  229.       A:\>INSTALL
  230. 7. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  231. 8. After the installation is complete, remove the diskette, shut down
  232.    OS/2, and restart the computer.
