What This Diskette Does
-----------------------
The Video Features Diskette IV for OS/2 provides drivers to:
- Improve the drawing performance on the display
- Provide a resolution up to 1600x1200 for a CRT monitor
- Provide various color depths: 256, 64K, or 16M for a CRT monitor
The following models are supported:
- ThinkPad 770/770E/770ED/770X

A blackout occurs during the Video Features Diskette IV
installation when the system ROM is updated to version 1.10
or later.

- (Fix) A blackout occurs when moving the mouse pointer on desktop.

A SYS1729 warning message is displayed during the system
starts up when applying OS/2 FixPak XR_M006 or later.
<1.03>
- (New) Support for ThinkPad 770X.
- (Fix) Filling some solid patterns fails with 64K/16M colors.
- (Fix) The screen corrupts with 16M colors when the hotpoint of
mouse pointer is set to bottom and moving the mouse pointer
to the top of the screen.
- (Fix) DPI(dots per inch) cannot be customized in a WIN-OS/2 session.
Installation Guide
------------------
<Preparation>
If you are reinstalling the display driver in a system that already has
an old version of that driver installed, do the following:
If not, skip this procedure.
1. Turn on the computer and start OS/2.
2. When a small white box appears in the upper left corner of the
screen, press Alt+F1.
3. When the Recovery Choices screen appears:
- In Warp Version 3: press V.
- In Warp Version 4: press F3.
4. Shut down OS/2 after the VGA driver is installed.
5. Turn off the computer.
<Installation>
1. Turn on the computer and start OS/2.
2. Set the display device to LCD only.
3. Insert the ThinkPad Video Features Diskette IV for OS/2 into
the diskette drive.
4. Open an OS/2 window or a full-screen command prompt.
5. Type A: at the command prompt and press Enter.
6. Type INSTALL at the A:\> prompt and press Enter.
A:\>INSTALL
7. Follow the instructions on the screen.
8. After the installation is complete, remove the diskette, shut down
OS/2, and restart the computer.
