  78.                  INSTALLATION  INSTRUCTIONS OS/2 V2.1
  79.  
  80. NOTE:  The Installation Diskette Volume Label must be TSENG 1.  Please
  81. note that there is a space between TSENG and 1.
  82.  
  83. 1.      Close all DOS & Windows applications and command prompts.
  84. 2.      Open OS/2 SYSTEM.
  85. 3.      Open COMMAND PROMPTS.
  86. 4.      Open either OS/2 WINDOW or OS/2 FULL SCREEN.
  87. 5.      Insert Tseng Installation diskette in drive A.
  88. 6.      Type:
  89.              A: [enter]
  90.              PREPARE A: C: [enter]
  91.  
  92.              Where A: is the drive with the Tseng Installation diskette,
  93.              and C: is the drive with OS/2 installed.
  94.  
  95.              Now remove the TSENG 1 Installation diskette from drive A:,
  96.              shut down your system, reboot your computer, follow
  97.              steps 1-5 again and continue with step 7 below.
  98. 7.      Type:
  99.                 A: [enter]
  100.                 INSTALL A: C: [enter]
  101.  
  102.         Where A: is the drive with the Tseng Installation diskette,
  103.         and C: is the drive with OS/2 installed.
  104.  
  105. 8.      From the DISPLAY DRIVER INSTALL window,
  106.                 select PRIMARY DISPLAY
  107.                 select OK.
  108.  
  109. 9.      From the PRIMARY DISPLAY ADAPTER TYPE window,
  110.                 select TSENG LABORATORIES ET4000/W32/W32i/W32p 256 Colors
  111.                 select OK.

  116. 10.     From the MONITOR CONFIGURATION/SELECTION UTILITY window,
  117.                 select INSTALL USING DISPLAY ADAPTER UTILITY PROGRAM
  118.                 select OK.

  120. 11.     From the MONITOR CONFIGURATION/SELECTION UTILITY LOCATION
  121.         window,
  122.                 type A:\SETMODE.EXE
  123.                 select OK
  124.  
  125. 12.     SETMODE will prompt you to set refresh rates for 640x480
  126.         resolution, 800x600, 1024x768, and finally for 1280x1024.
  127.         Currently available choices are shown in parentheses.

  129. 13.     From the SELECT DISPLAY RESOLUTION window,
  130.                 select the desired resolution
  131.                 select OK.
  132.  
  133. 14.     From the SOURCE DIRECTORY window,
  134.                 select INSTALL.
  135.  
  136. 15.     When the drivers are completely installed, you will be prompted
  137.         to shut down and restart the system for changes to take effect.
  138.                  select OK.

  140. 16.     Remove the diskette from drive A.
  141. 17.     Shut down and restart.
  142.

  148. To change resolutions and pixel depths within the driver AFTER INSTALLATION,
  149. take the following steps:
  150. 1.  Open OS/2 SYSTEM.
  151. 2.  Open System Setup.
  152. 3.  Open System.
  153. 4.  The currently selected resolution and color depth will be highlighted.
  154. 5.  To change it, simply click on the desired setting, close the System
  155.     Notebook, Shut Down the system, and reboot the computer.

  159.  WIN-OS2 FULL SCREEN REFRESH RATES
  160.  
  161. To set a refresh rate of 72 Hz for 640x480, 800x600 
  162. and 70 Hz for 1024x768 for WIN-OS2 full screen 
  163. do the following:
  164.  
  165. 1. Copy VMODE.COM from the w32/w32i/w32p driver disk to your
  166.    utilities directory.
  167.  
  168. 2. Add the following commands to AUTOEXEC.BAT
  169.      C:\UTIL\VMODE 72HZ
  170.      C:\UTIL\VMODE 48K
  171.      C:\UTIL\VMODE 72M
  172.    where C:\UTIL is the name of your utilities directory
  173.    containing VMODE.COM.

  175. 3. Shutdown and reboot.

  180. WIN-OS2 full screen will now be capable of 72 hz refresh at
  181. 640x480 and 800x600, and 70 hz for 1024x768. Be sure your
  182. monitor can handle the higher refresh rates.
