THIS VIDEO ACCELERATOR DRIVER IS COMPATIBLE WITH OS/2 2.1, 2.11 AND Warp V3.
DO NOT INSTALL IT ON OTHER VERSIONS OF OS/2.

1. Supported cards and resolutions
----------------------------------
This driver supports the following miro graphics boards:
- miroCRYSTAL 10SD
- miroCRYSTAL 20SD/1MB
- miroCRYSTAL 20SD
The following resolutions and color depths are supported with the
listed miro graphics boards:

All available resolutions support Seamless Windows.
2. Installation notes
---------------------
- IMPORTANT: To install the miro drivers for OS/2 correctly,
OS/2 has to be installed for VGA.
If you have modified your OS/2 video since installation, you must return
it to VGA before you install this driver.
For details read chapter 5 (Re-installing VGA) in this file.
- You must have OS/2 DOS and REXX Support installed in order to install
this driver.
- The OS/2 commands ATTRIB and UNPACK are used during installation. If you
selected not to install the OS/2 System Utilities or you have deleted one
of the commands, you must use "Selective Install" to restore these two
commands before continuing.
- The "miro·plus; High speed drivers for OS/2 #2/2" Install disk
must be labeled "S3 DRVS".
- Before starting the installation, make a backup copy of the installation
disk included in the delivery scope.
Keep the original disk in a safe place and only use the copy.
3. Installing the miro drivers for OS/2
---------------------------------------
The installation of the miro drivers for OS/2 is done from the floppy disk.
During the installation the drivers are copied to the hard disk.
To install the miro drivers, proceed as follows:
- Start your computer and boot OS/2.
- On the OS/2 desktop open the "System" folder.
- In the "System" window open the "Command Prompts" folder.
- Start the "OS/2 Fullscreen" object or the "OS/2 Window" object.
- Insert the "miro·plus; High speed drivers for OS/2; Install disk # 1/2"
in the disk drive and enter:
A:S3INST A: C: <ENTER>
where A: corresponds to the disk drive,
C: corresponds to the hard disk on which OS/2 is installed.
- Insert the "miro·plus; High speed drivers for OS/2; Install disk # 2/2"
in the disk drive if requested.
- Close the "OS/2 Fullscreen" or "OS/2 Window" object.
- The system has to be restarted. Therefore, choose "Shut down"
from the popup-menu on the OS/2 desktop.
- Remove the disk from the disk drive.
- Press <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Del> to restart the system.
- Insert the "miro·plus; High speed drivers for OS/2; Install disk # 2/2"
again into the disk drive after OS/2 has booted.
- If you have closed the "System" folder, open it on the OS/2 desktop.
- In the "System" window open the "System Setup" folder.
- Select the "Display Driver Install" object.
- In the "Display Driver Install" window, mark the box for "Primary Display"
and click "OK".
- In the "Primary Display Adapter Type" window, mark the
"32 Bit S3 Display Drivers" entry in the list and click "OK".
- In the "Monitor Configuration/Selection Utility" window accept the
"Install Using Defaults for Monitor Type" option with "OK".
ATTENTION: The monitor will blank for some seconds,
the computer is still processing.
- If necessary, change the disk drive in the "Source Directory" window and
click "Install". The miro drivers are copied to the disk drive.
- Quit the following window with "OK".
- In the "System Setup" window select the object "System".
- In the "System-Settings" window choose the desired resolution and number
of colors.
- Close the window and perform a Shut down.
The settings take effect after your computer has been restarted.
4. Windows under OS/2
---------------------
There is the possibility to install the miro Windows drivers under OS/2.
The supplied "miro·win; High-speed drivers for Windows" Install disks are
required.
To install the Windows drivers for OS/2 correctly, the VGA driver has to be
installed for Windows.
- In the DOS Fullscreen box start the batch file WININST.BAT, which has been
copied to your hard disk during the installation of the OS/2 drivers:
C:\OS2\MDOS\WININST A: C: <ENTER>
where A: corresponds to the disk drive and
C: to the hard disk on which OS/2 is installed.
- Insert the "miro·win; High-speed drivers for Windows" Install disk # 1/2
and if requested # 2/2. After the files have been copied to the hard disk,
Windows and the miro installation program are started automatically.
For a detailed information on the installation program refer to the
miro·win Software Manual.
- After the installation of the miro Windows drivers has been completed,
quit Windows and close the DOS Fullscreen box.
- Start Windows with the appropriate Icon in the "Command Prompts" folder.
5. Re-installing VGA
--------------------
If you are running OS/2 2.1 or 2.11:
- Start your computer and boot OS/2.
- On the OS/2 desktop open the "System" folder.
- In the "System" window open the "System Setup" folder.
- Select the "Display Driver Install" object.
- In the "Display Driver Install" window, mark the box for "Primary Display"
and click "OK".
- In the "Primary Display Adapter Type" window, mark the
"VGA (Video Graphics Array)" entry in the list and click "OK".
- If necessary, change the disk drive in the "Source Directory" window and
click "Install". The VGA drivers are copied to the disk drive.
- Quit the following window with "OK".
- Perform a Shut down.
- OS/2 will now boot using VGA graphics.
If you are running OS/2 Warp V3:
- If necessary, perform a system shutdown.
- Boot your computer.
- While booting, a white rectangle appears in the upper left corner of the
screen with the text OS/2 to the right.
- Press Alt-F1 while this rectangle is displayed.
- In the following menu, select the option V to re-configure the system to
VGA graphics.
- OS/2 will now boot using VGA graphics.
