  28. 1) You will need the OS/2 Corrective Service Facility boot disks to
  29.    install this FixPak. These files should be available from
  30.    the same place you got this FixPak from as
  31.  
  32.    CSFBOOT.1DK  - Corrective Service Facility bootdisk 1
  33.    CSFBOOT.2DK  - Corrective Service Facility bootdisk 2
  34.  
  35.       - or -
  36.  
  37.    WKICKR.ZIP   - File compressed with PKZIP. Contains both of the
  38.                   above disk images. Requires PKUNZIP or UNZIP to
  39.                   extract original files from compressed file.
  40.  
  41.    To create diskettes from the disk image files you need LOADDSKF.EXE.
  42.    This is also available from the same place you got this FixPak from
  43.    as
  44.  
  45.    LDF.COM      - Self extracting file that will create LOADDSKF.EXE.
  46.                   Place in a separate directory on your harddisk then
  47.                   enter LDF.
  48.  
  49.       - or -
  50.  
  51.    LOADDF.ZIP   - File compressed with PKZIP, contains LOADDSKF.EXE.
  52.                   Requires PKUNZIP or UNZIP to extract original files
  53.                   from compressed file.

  55.    Use LOADDSKF.EXE to create the diskettes. For each disk image place
  56.    a 2MB HD (1.44MB formatted) diskette in A:
  57.  
  58.    a. Enter LOADDSKF CSFBOOT.1DK A: /F
  59.         Label as Corrective Service Facility CSFBOOT DISK  1
  60.  
  61.    b. Enter LOADDSKF CSFBOOT.2DK A: /F
  62.         Label as Corrective Service Facility CSFBOOT DISK  2
  63.  
  64.    c. Enter LOADDSKF XR_BTK1.DSK A: /F
  65.         Label as FixPak XR_BTK1 Corrective Service Diskette 1 (CSF DISK 1)
  66.  
  67. 2) The Current CSD level for the "IBM Developer's Toolkit for OS/2 2.11 or
  68.    Warp v3 " will not be changed by installation of this FixPak even though
  69.    the SERVICE.LOG file states it will. This FixPak is not a Service Level
  70.    change, it upgrades the existing service level (XR_6200) or (XR_3000)
  71.    , therefore the SYSLEVEL is not changed. All fix information is recorded
  72.    in the SERVICE.LOG.
  73.  
  74.    Look at the file
  75.  
  76.          \OS2\INSTALL\SERVICE.LOG
  77.  
  78.    for information relating to the installation of this (or any) FixPak
  79.    on your system. To see the current release level and other related
  80.    information use the SYSLEVEL command.
  81.  
  82. 3) If you get a "No Product to service" message while applying this FixPak
  83.    then the Current CSD level or Component ID of the "IBM Developer's
  84.    Toolkit for OS/2 2.11 or Warp v3.0 " is incorrect. Correct values must be:
  85.  
  86.          Current CSD level: XR06200
  87.               Component Id: 562107801
  88.  
  89.               or
  90.  
  91.          Current CSD level: XR03000
  92.               Component Id: 562268600
  93.  
  94.    If these values are correct then check for the following files:
  95.  
  96.          CSF_SEL.000
  97.          LOGF0000.OS2
  98.          LOGSTART.OS2
  99.          LOGARCH.OS2
  100.  
  101.    If any of them exist then rename them and try the FixPak install again.
  102.    If it works then delete the renamed files.
  103.  
  104. 4) See the README2 file on this same disk for a list of APARs fixed.

  109. Note: To view the Corrective Service Facility documentation do:
  110.       1. Insert CSFBOOT diskette 1 in drive A
  111.       2. OC:\tEnter view a:readme
  112.  
  113. To INSTALL this fixpak perform the following steps:
  114.  
  115.  1. Insert CSFBOOT disk 1 in A:.
  116.  
  117.  2. Open an OS/2 window or Full Screen.
  118.  
  119.  3. Enter a:\service and press the ENTER key.
  120.  
  121.  4. Follow displayed instructions. When prompted to insert Corrective
  122.     Service Diskette 1 (not CSF DISK Diskette 1) place FixPak XR_B098
  123.     Corrective Service Diskette 1 in a:. Repeat for disk 2, disk 3 and
  124.     disk 4 when requested to do so.
  125.  
  126.  5. If this is the first OS/2 FixPak you have applied to
  127.     this system then enter the path where a copy of replaced file(s)
  128.     will be stored in the ARCHIVE directory, Ex. D:\ARCHIVE.
  129.  
  130.     If this is not the first OS/2 FixPak then enter the path
  131.     where a copy of replaced file(s) will be stored in the BACKUP directory,
  132.     EX. D:\BACKUP.
  133.  
  134.     For either case make sure there is a sufficient space available.
  135.  
  136.  6. Click on "OK".
  137.  
  138.  7. You will see an "Application in use" dialog box showing a list of
  139.     locked files that cannot be serviced while the system is running.
  140.     You are given two choices, to Continue or Reboot. Please select
  141.     Continue.
  142.  
  143.     During the install process you will see messages about Archiving,
  144.     Updating and Deferring service.
  145.  
  146.     - Archiving saves a copy of the original file in the archive path you
  147.       specified.
  148.  
  149.     - Updating means the original files is replaced with the new one from
  150.       this FixPak.
  151.  
  152.     - Deferring service means the file to be updated is currently in use
  153.       by the system and cannot be updated. The new files from the FixPak
  154.       are placed in the \OS2\INSTALL directory on your OS/2 2.11
  155.       boot drive in unpacked format for use by the locked file device
  156.       driver during reboot after you shutdown.
  157.  
  158.  7. Select NO for redisplay of "Product List" when displayed (after
  159.     the first part of the FixPak apply process has completed) if this
  160.     is displayed.
  161.  
  162.  8. Click Cancel and Exit to close the Corrective Service Facility window
  163.     if necessary.
  164.  
  165.  9. Shut down and reboot your system.
  166.  
  167. 10. You should see the following during reboot.
  168.  
  169.     The locked file driver is loaded.
  170.  
  171.            Processing locked files
  172.  
  173.            Processing complete
  174.  
  175.     At this point the system may do an automatic reboot.
  176.  
  177. Note: If the message "Program encountered a problem and can not
  178.       continue" is displayed,  please ignore.
