  13. Before beginning installation of this fixpak, please check the following: 
  14. 1) The IBM C and C++ Compilers product must be installed on an accessible
  15.     Read Write Drive. 
  16. 2) The Feature Installer Runtime must be installed on the system.  Since 
  17.     this is a prerequisite for installing theIBM C and C++ Compilers product.
  18.     Please refer to the install.txt of the product for the installation notes
  19.     of the Feature Installer Runtime. 
  20. 3) You need a frames-capable browser to install the product, and to access
  21.     the HTML-based help. 
  22. 4) During installation, the product should not be used at all to avoid any
  23.     access violations. 
  24.                     
  25. Restrictions and Functional Notes: 
  26. 1) You can install this Fixpak 2 as many times as required. 
  27. 2) You can not install this Fixpak 2 over a newer Fixpak. 
  28. 3) You must reboot the machine after installing each part of the Fixpak. 
  29. 4) This installation will not overwrite any of the original product files
  30.     that have a newer time stamp. 
  31. 5) The "Disk Space Plugin" may not display the number of MegaBytes to be
  32.     installed if you have a large cluster size on the hard drive where the
  33.     product resides. Also, since the change in total product size resulting 
  34.     from this fixpak is minimal, a size change may not be correctly be displayed.

  36. Installation Instructions:

  38. Fixpak part 1: 
  39. This is the main part of the Fixpak. 
  40.                     
  41. 1) Unzip the Fixpak onto a drive**.  The unzipped Fixpak image is approximately
  42.      52MB*. 
  43. 2) Run the install.cmd batch file in the root directory of the unzipped Fixpak. 
  44. 3) Follow the instructions from the Graphical User Interface (the web browser). 
  45. 4) Reboot the computer.

  47. Fixpak part 2: 
  48. This is the optional part of the Fixpak 
  49.                     
  50. 1) Unzip the Fixpak onto a drive**.  The unzipped Fixpak image is approximately
  51.     191MB*. 
  52. 2) Run the install.cmd batch file in the root directory of the unzipped Fixpak. 
  53. 3) Follow the instructions from the Graphical User Interface (the web browser). 
  54. 4) Reboot the computer.

  57.       These sizes are for the HPFS filesystem.
