LAN Server 3.0 SelectPak IP07005
INTRODUCTION
IP07005.ZIP is intended for worldwide distribution. Some electronic
delivery repositories or bulletin boards restrict file names to six
characters; hence the package name may vary. This package contains
LAN Server 3.0 and HPFS386 File System fixes that are not specific to
national languages. Some of the fixes are prerequisites for the IBM
LAN NetView(TM) family of products. The IP07005.ZIP file includes
US ENGLISH command and message files along with installation
instructions (.INF files) translated into various languages.
REQUIREMENTS FOR INSTALLATION
LAN Server 3.0 ServicePak IPx7001 (where x indicates a national
language version) is a prerequisite for this non-language specific
SelectPak. For non-DBCS systems with OS/2(TM) 2.1 RIPL servers,
RPLS7001.CMD must be run after applying IPx7001 and before applying
IP07005. To install the fixes in this SelectPak, the LAN Server
must be stopped and, if local security is installed at the target
server, a LAN Administrator must be logged on locally. OS/2(TM) file
ATTRIB.EXE must be in the search path for use by the install tool.
Reboot is required only if locked files are encountered during
installation.
INSTALLATION
The following installation instructions presume that the Container
File IP07005.ZIP has been downloaded or copied to a hardfile. Use
PKUNZIP2 to unzip the Container File (eg. PKUNZIP2 IP07005.)
The installation of this package is via REXX command files. Information
needed for installation must be supplied in response to user prompts
if not specified as input parameters with the command invocation. The
input parameters provide the capability to CID install this package.
An example of the command stream to install this package for an
Advanced Server follows:
SRV /B:C /S:\Service /T:C /D:C /K:\IBMLAN\BACKUP /V:1
HPFS /B:C /S:\Service /T:C /K:\IBMLAN\BACKUP /V:1
The command files and input parameters are described in the .INF file
contained in this package. The .INF file can be VIEWed by using the
OS/2(TM) VIEW command.
See file CID.TIP, included in this package, for an example of an LCU
CID procedure to install the fixes in this package.

ConveniencePak of prerequisites for LAN Netview product users
------- DISCLAIMER --------------------------------------------------------
These fixes will only be supported until the release of a Service Pack
for the appropriate product which contains them. At that time, to
receive continued support you should obtain the product Service Pack.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
INTRODUCTION
------------
This package provides APAR fixes for the following product levels:
o OS/2(*) 2.0 ServicePak XR?6100
o OS/2(*) 2.1 General Availability version
o LS 3.0 ServicePak IP?7001
o DB2/2(*) ServicePak WR?7010 - Database Engine Kernel
Note: The ? in the ServicePak titles is a place holder for the
appropriate national language indicator (eg.,WRG6100 for the German
version of the second OS/2 2.0 ServicePak.)
Although the prerequisite packages are language specific, this package
is common to all national languages. This package carries the US country
indicator; however, these fixes can be installed on national language
versions of the prerequisite products listed above.
The APAR fixes for each product are found in a zip file reflecting the
name of the product. Instructions for upgrading each product are
contained in the zip file bearing the product name. After obtaining this
package, each zip file should be unzipped using PKUNZIP2. (e.g. PKUNZIP2
OS221 c:\service\os221.) CAUTION: Use a SEPARATE subdirectory for each
product. Same name files exist in the product zip files!
OS/2(*) 2.0 FIXES
-----------------
The following OS/2(*) 2.0 fix modules are found in OS220.zip:
o OS2KRNL
o QUECALLS.DLL
o HPFS.IFS
o IBMXGA32.DLL
The install tool, INSTLFIX.CMD, and its associated file, APAR.NUM, are
also included in the OS220 zip file, along with the instruction file,
README.1st. The install tool is a simple REXX command file that does a
backup of the file to be replaced, copies the new file from the
ConveniencePak, and adds the APAR number of the fix to the INSTALL.LOG
in the OS2\INSTALL directory.
Use PKUNZIP2 to unzip the OS220.zip file into a unique subdirectory and
follow the instructions in the README.1ST file to install these fix
modules.
OS/2(*) 2.1 FIXES
-----------------
The INSTALLF tool is used to install the following OS/2(*) 2.1 files
contained in OS221.zip.:
o OS2KRNL
o QUECALLS.DLL
o HPFS.IFS
INSTALLF.EXE and its associated file, MODULE.LOG, are included in the
OS221.zip file with the fix modules. The INSTALLF tool functions of
archiving the GA version, backing up the current version, and installing
service are explained in detail in the README.1st file. Unzip the
OS221.zip file into a unique subdirectory using PKUNZIP2 to access the
README.1st file and the other files described above.
LS 3.0 FIXES
------------
The LAN Server 3.0 fixes needed for LAN NetView(*) products are packaged
as the IP07005 SelectPak. A brief description of the installation
requirements of this SelectPak is found in the IP07005.AVL file and CID
hints are in the 7005CID.TIP file. IP07005 updates the LAN Server
HPFS200.386, HPFS386.IFS, NETSERVR.EXE, and NETSVINI.EXE files. Use
PKUNZIP2 to unzip the IP07005.zip into a unique subdirectory before
referring to the IP07005.INF file for detailed installation instructions
and additional content information. The INF file is available in
several languages.
DB2/2(*) FIXES
--------------
The DB22.zip file contains install tool DB22FIX.CMD and its associated
file, APAR.NUM, the README.1ST file, and fix module SQLO.DLL. The
install tool is a simple REXX command file that does a backup of the
file to be replaced, copies the new file from the ConveniencePak, and
adds the APAR number of the fix to the DB22FIX.LOG in the SQLLIB
directory. Use PKUNZIP2 to unzip DB22.zip into a unique subdirectory
before referring to the README.1st file for install instructions.
