  1. Interim Fix for APAR JR08226
  2. ============================

  4. Note: This is a temporary fix for APAR JR08226
  5.       and NOT an official Select / Service Pak.
  6.  
  7. This fix solves a problem for installing CAE/2 v1.2 and SDK/2 v1.2 on
  8. OS/2 WARP (v3.0). Previously CAE/2 v1.2 and SDK/2 v1.2 could only
  9. be installed on OS/2 2.0 and 2.1. This fix enables the installation of
  10. CAE/2 v1.2 and SDK/2 v1.2 on an OS/2 release later than 2.1.

  12. Pre-Requisites
  13. --------------

  15. The fix can be applied to GOLD versions (Syslevel WR07000) of:
  16.          CAE/2 v1.2 (Client Application Enabler /2)
  17.     and  SDK/2 v1.2 (Software Development Kit /2)
  18.  
  19. Applying the Fix
  20. ----------------
  21.  
  22. 8226-2.ZIP contains the following .ZIP files:
  23.  
  24.        WARPCAE2.ZIP ..... fix for CAE/2 v1.2
  25.        WARPSDK2.ZIP ..... fix for SDK/2 v1.2
  26.

  28. WARPCAE2.ZIP contains the following files:
  29.  
  30. DB2OP.PRF
  31. DB2CID2.EXE
  32. DB2INST2.EXE
  33.  
  34. Copy WARPCAE2.ZIP to a temporary directory on your hard drive.
  35.  
  36. Use the command (pkunzip -o warpcae2.zip a:) to overwrite the files
  37. on your installation diskette.  (Disk #1 CAE/2 v1.2).

  39. If you have previously installed CAE/2 v1.2 on OS/2 2.0 or 2.1, and
  40. upgraded to OS/2 WARP (v3.0) use the following command to apply the fix.

  42. pkunzip -o warpcae2.zip x:\os2\install
  43.        ( where x: is the the boot drive )

  46. WARPSDK2.ZIP contains the following files:
  47.  
  48. DB2OP.PRF
  49. DB2INST2.EXE
  50. DB2CID2.ZIP
  51.
