  1. Canon LBP-1260C printer driver for OS/2 1.3, 2.x
  2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  4. Release notes for new versions of this driver are contained in the file
  5. RELx60C.TXT. This file describes how to install the driver.
  6.  
  7. In the following notes the term "LBP-x60C driver" refers to this driver, which
  8. supports the Canon CaPSL LBP-1260C printer.

  10. Installation
  11. ~~~~~~~~~~~~

  13. Note: If creating an installation disk from a ZIP file, execute the
  14. command file RESET60C on the installation disk before use.

  17. Installing under OS/2 1.3
  18. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  19.  
  20. If you have a previous version of the LBP-x60C driver already installed on your
  21. system, you must perform the following steps before proceeding with the
  22. installation.
  23.  
  24. 1.  Open the Print Manager
  25.  
  26. 2.  Select "Setup" from the menu bar
  27.  
  28. 3.  Select "Printers..." from the menu
  29.  
  30. 4.  Select each Canon LBP-x60C printer listed in turn, pressing the "Delete"
  31.     button on the dialog to remove the printer
  32.  
  33. 5.  Press the "OK" button on the dialog to finish the dialog
  34.  
  35. 6.  Select "Setup" from the menu bar
  36.  
  37. 7.  Select "Queues..." from the menu
  38.  
  39. 8.  Select each queue connected to a Canon LBP-x60C printer listed in turn,
  40.     pressing the "Delete" button on the dialog to remove the queue
  41.  
  42. 9.  Press the "OK" button on the dialog to finish the dialog
  43.  
  44. 10. Open the Control Panel
  45.  
  46. 11. Select "Installation" from the menu bar
  47.  
  48. 12. Select "Delete printer driver" from the menu
  49.  
  50. 13. Select the LBP-x60C printer driver and press the "Delete" button on the
  51.     dialog
  52.  
  53. 14. Answer "Yes" to delete the driver file as well
  54.  
  55. To install the new driver from the installation disk, you should perform
  56. the following steps
  57.  
  58. 1.  Open the Print Manager
  59.  
  60. 2.  Select "Setup" from the menu bar
  61.  
  62. 3.  Select "Printer Install..." from the menu
  63.  
  64. 4.  Press the "New..." button on the dialog
  65.  
  66. 5.  Specify the drive containing the installation disk and press "OK"
  67.  
  68. 6.  Select the model of your printer from the list given. The driver will
  69.     be copied to your system and the printer models will appear in the
  70.     printer list
  71.  
  72. 7.  Set the parallel port appropriately and press "OK" to create the
  73.     the printer and queue
  74.  
  75. If the system fails to copy the new driver to your hard disk it is probably
  76. due to a previous version of the driver being locked. Reboot your system
  77. and try the installation procedure again.

  80. Installing under OS/2 2.x
  81. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  83. If you have a previous version of the LBP-x60C driver already installed on your
  84. system, you must perform the following steps before proceeding with the
  85. installation.
  86.  
  87. 1.  Open a printer driver icon's settings dialog
  88.  
  89. 2.  Delete any installed LBP-x60C drivers shown on the printer drivers list,
  90.     either by dragging to the shredder or by selecting "Delete" on the
  91.     icon's menu. When deleting the last driver icon, allow the system
  92.     to delete the driver file as well
  93.  
  94. To install the new driver from the installation disk, you should perform
  95. the following steps
  96.  
  97. 1.  Open the drive icon containing the installation disk
  98.  
  99. 2.  Open the LBP-x60C printer driver icon (labelled "LBPX60C.DRV"). (The
  100.     system may take a long time to open the icon, please wait.) The
  101.     system will display a window containing the Canon printer device names
  102.  
  103. 3.  Select the icon most appropriate for your printer and drag the icon
  104.     onto the desktop. This will install the printer driver on your system
  105.     and create a queue to the printer. (The system may not position the
  106.     printer icon at the place where you dropped it on the desktop.)
  107.  
  108. 4.  Open the settings dialog on the printer icon and configure the settings
  109.     according to your printer environment (i.e. output port, paper size,
  110.     font cards, etc.)

  112. If the system fails to copy the new driver to your hard disk it is probably
  113. due to a previous version of the driver being locked. Reboot your system
  114. and try the installation procedure again.

  118. Application Notes
  119. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  120.  
  121. 1. Graduated polygon fills are time-consuming under Corel Draw. When printing
  122.    pictures containing such objects, ensure the "Fountain Stripes" value
  123.    on the Print dialog is set to the minimum value that will produce a
  124.    reasonable quality. For most pictures a value between 8 and 16 should
  125.    suffice. Increase the value for pictures with high contrast.
