This is an update file set for IBM 4019 LaserPrinter Supplemental Utilities Diskette. It upgrades the
OS/2 version of the AES (Automatic Emulation Mode Switching) utility to support OS/2 2.0; when
it becomes available.
There are 4 files accompanying this README in the file set:
1) UPDATE.CMD ... This is the OS/2 Command file to automatically update your Supplemental Utilities Diskette.
2) INSTOS2.EXE ... New OS/2 AES Installation Utility
3) 4019AES.EXE ... New OS/2 AES Runtime code
4) 4019AES.MSG ... New OS/2 AES Message file.
Since the UPDATE command file updates the installation diskette, you will need your Supplemental Utilities diskette in order to complete the upgrade process. You may have to temporarily bypass the
write-protect notch on the diskette, in order to complete the update.
Once UPDATE has been successfully completed, you then will need to install AES.
Note that ONLY the OS/2 AES code is changed by this update. Also note that this new level of OS/2 AES continues to support OS/2 1.2 & 1.3.
To UPDATE your current Supplemental Utilities diskette, put all 4 of the above files in the same subdirectory of your hard drive or a diskette. Then when in that subdirectory, type in UPDATE x: .... where "x" is the diskette drive where your Supplemental Utilities diskette exists.
