  151. hexadecimal characters within the range of 400000000000 through                           
  152. 40007FFFFFFF.

  155. token-ring is being used by another node.                                                 
  156. User Action:  Either modify PROTOCOL.INI to provide a different

  159. using this network address from the ring.                                                 
  160. ICause:  The ring speed is different from the speed of the                                 
  161. node attempting to insert onto the ring.                                                  
  162. User Action:  Use the reference diskette that came with your                              
  163. computer to ensure that the adapter is configured at the same                             
  164. speed as the token-ring.                                                                  
  165. ICause:  When the adapter tried to insert onto the token-ring, a                           
  166. hardware error occurred on the adapter.                                                   
  167. User Action:  Run the hardware diagnostics for the IBM Token-Ring                         
  168. Network 16/4 Busmaster Server Adapter/A adapter.  Contact                                 
  169. your vendor sales representative.                                                         
  170. ICause:  While attempting to open the adapter, an indication                               
  171. was received that the adapter is not properly connected to                                
  172. the token-ring.                                                                           
  173. User Action:  Ensure that the token-ring cable is connected to                            
  174. the adapter and to the token-ring multistation access unit (MAU).                         
  175. If the error persists, use a different token-ring cable                                   
  176. and check to ensure that the connection to the MAU is                                     
  177. functioning properly.  Then run the hardware diagnostics                                  
  178. for the IBM Token-Ring Network 16/4 Busmaster Server Adapter/A                            
  179. adapter.                                                                                  
  180. ICause:  The version of the IBM Token-Ring Network 16/4                                    
  181. Busmaster Server Adapter/A NDIS MAC device driver is                                      
  182. built for an 80286 machine.  The version will function                                    
  183. correctly on this 80386/80486 machine, but performance                                    
  184. benefits will not be available.                                                           
  185. User Action:  Install the optimized version on this machine.                              
  186. ICause:  The device driver installed is designed to run on                                 
  187. a different operating system.                                                             
  188. User Action:  Do the following:                                                           
  189. 1.  Locate the current version of IMBTRBM.OS2 on the machine.                             
  190. 2.  Erase IBMTRBM.OS2.                                                                    
  191. 3.  Copy IBMTRBM.286 from the installation diskette into the directory.                   
  192. 4.  Rename IBMTBM.286 to IBMTRBM.OS2.                                                     
  193. 5.  Restart your system.
