  3. Network Drivers Installation Notes
  4.  
  5.               WINDOWS 3.1X AND NOVELL NETWARE
  6.  
  7.  
  8. This document describes how to configure the LAN+Modem card
  9. for use with Windows version 3.1x and Novell NetWare. These
  10. procedures are also described in the LAN+Modem card User
  11. Guide.
  12.  
  13. NOTE: The following instructions assume you have not installed
  14.       any other network adapter in the PC. If networking
  15.       has already been installed, some of the instructions will
  16.       not apply or appear accurate. Consult with your MIS 
  17.       department for further instructions.
  18.  
  19. Before installing the network driver, you should know the 
  20. transport used in the Novell Network (typically IPX/SPX) and
  21. have access to the following software components:
  22.  
  23.     - Novell NetWare VLM Client disks for DOS and Windows
  24.     - The EtherDisk diskette that came with your LAN+Modem card.
  25.  
  26. Installation Instructions
  27. -------------------------
  28.  
  29. 1.  Boot the PC in DOS. If the PC starts up in Windows,
  30.     exit Windows to return to the DOS prompt. 
  31.  
  32. 2.  Place the Novell VLM client disk #1 in the floppy drive. Type:
  33.  
  34.         a:\install <Enter>.
  35.  
  36.     This opens the NetWare client installation screen.
  37.  
  38. 3.  Use the down arrow key to move from line to line. Ensure 
  39.     that the information is correct. When you are asked to select
  40.     the driver for your network card, press <Enter> to see the
  41.     list of supported adapters. At the bottom of the list, find
  42.     and select Other Drivers.
  43.  
  44. 4.  When prompted for a driver disk, put the EtherDisk in your 
  45.     floppy drive and press <Enter>. The LAN+Modem card should
  46.     appear as the first item on the list. Select it and press <Enter>.
  47.  
  48. 5.  Specify the frame type by pressing <Enter> and choosing the
  49.     appropriate type from the list. Press <Enter> to select your
  50.     choice. (You will not need to select an I/O Base. Use the
  51.     default.)
  52.  
  53. 6.  Press F10 to return to the main installation screen. Position
  54.     the cursor on line 6 and press <Enter>. The installer
  55.     prompts for several diskettes and notifies you when the
  56.     installation is complete.
  57.  
  58. 7.  Press <Enter> to exit the installation program and return to DOS.
  59.  
  60. 8. Reboot the PC by hitting <CTRL><ALT><DEL>. When you 
  61.     go into Windows You will be able to LOGIN to the 
  62.     Novell Servers.
  63.  
  64. The configuration manager (3CELCM.EXE) must be added to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file or CONFIG.SYS file. Add the line:

  68. Specify a directory path if required.
