  1. WARPedBMP Version 1.2

  3. NOTE:
  4. This package does not contain the VROBJ.DLL file, see INSTALLX.TXT for
  5. details.

  8. This file contains a very brief set of instructions to allow you to
  9. get WARPedBMP installed and running with little effort.  Detailed
  10. instructions are contained in Manual.Txt
  11.  
  12. WARPedBMP will store the BitMaps that are used for the WPS DeskTop
  13. BackGround Display in a compressed archive file and will change the
  14. DeskTop BackGround to a new picture/BitMap each time that the system
  15. is started or rebooted.  If using OS/2 Warp, the DeskTop BackGround
  16. can also be automaticly changed at selected time intervals while the
  17. system is running.

  20. 1.  Installation:  The installation file INSTALL.CMD will install
  21. WARPedBMP to the location of your choice, if you have a previous version
  22. of AutoBMP (WARPedBMP's former name) it will update that version.  It will
  23. install WARPedBMP and create all necessary DeskTop objects/icons for it.

  25. If you received WARPedBMP in a compressed archive file, uncompress the
  26. file to a floppy disk or to a temporary directory on your hard drive and
  27. then run INSTALL.CMD.

  30. 2.  Once the install program has completed and WARPedBMP is running then:
  31.  
  32.     a.  Use the SELECT button to select one or more BitMaps to be placed
  33. into the WARPedBMP archive.
  34.  
  35.     b.  Use the ADD button to add these BitMaps to the WARPedBMP archive.
  36.  
  37.     c.  Select CHANGE from the ToolBar, then select LOAD NEXT BITMAP FROM
  38. ARCHIVE, this will create the file WARPBMP.BMP in the OS/2 BitMap
  39. directory.

  41.     d1.  IF YOU ARE USING WARPedBMP WITH OS/2 WARP, then you will now see
  42. that the WPS BackGround has now changed to the BitMap that was loaded from
  43. the WARPedBMP archive.  Installion is now complete, a new BitMap will be
  44. placed on the DeskTop each time that your system is started
  45.  
  46.     d2.   IF YOU ARE NOT USING OS/2 WARP, then you must open the
  47. WPS DeskTop Settings Folder, go to the BackGround Tab and set the BitMap
  48. selection to the WARPBMP.BMP.  You should now see the selected BitMap
  49. displayed on the DeskTop.  Close the settings folder, REPEAT STEP c. ABOVE.
  50. This will load the next BitMap into the WARPBMP.BMP file.  This BitMap will
  51. be used the next time the system is rebooted.  The installation is now
  52. complete, each time that the system is started, the DeskTop will display
  53. a new BitMap/picture.

  55.     e.  If you are using OS/2 Warp see the file Manual.Txt for instructions
  56. on setting the timed mode and how to select the image display mode for
  57. each BitMap to be:  Normal, Tiled, or Scaled.

  65. All BitMaps are stored in the file WARPBMP.ZIP or .LZH in the
  66. WARPBMP directory (updated AutoBMP installations are stored in the
  67. directory AutoBMP).

  69. If you desire to add a large number of BitMaps at one time to the WARPedBMP
  70. archive file WARPBMP.ZIP or .LZH, you may do this using the OS/2 command
  71. line to run the archiver program that you selected when you installed
  72. WARPedBMP, then to make WARPedBMP aware of these new BitMaps, Select
  73. SETUP from the ToolBar and then select RESET WARPedBMP ARCHIVE, WARPedBMP
  74. will reread the archive and update it's INI file to reflect the new BitMaps.
  75. This is an alternative to adding them one at a time with the SELECT/ADD
  76. buttons, if you are creating an archive with a large number of BitMaps.
