INETLOG Program History
Chuck McKinnis mckinnis@attglobal.net
Jerry Levy
7.5 04 Oct 2001(inetlg75.zip)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - mckinnis@attglobal.net
The programs are now fully self-contained and are not compatible with
OS/2 Warp versions that have not been upgraded to support the new
and enhanced Rexx functions.
7.4 04 May 2001(inetlg74.zip)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - mckinnis@attglobal.net
PMPrintf is too old and has become unstable. The analyzer and configurator
are run under PM Rexx to provide output screens.
Went back to using RxExtras for sorts to be compatible with older Warp
versions.
The executables are now Rexx commmands instead of executables. Please erase
any *.exe files in the INetLog directory.
7.2 15 Mar 2000(inetlg72.zip)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - mckinnis@attglobal.net
PMPrintf is now used for output instead of PMREXX. INetCfg is used for
install and update of INetLog. INetCfg processes the various InJoy
configuration files to obtain information. Removed more extraneous
options. An ini file, inetcfg.ini, contains the various configuration
parameters.
7.1 10 Feb 2000(inetlg71.zip)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - mckinnis@attglobal.net
Modified to locate PMREXX in the PATH. Forgot to include the
dateconv.cmd in the package.
7.0 8 Feb 2000 (inetlg70.zip)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - mckinnis@attglobal.net
Now uses RxExtras support where appropriate. Handles InJoy and/or IBM
(AT&T) dialer logs. The inetlog.ini has been replaced with a text
configuration file. Removed many of the miscellaneous options.
6.1 1 Sep 1999 (INETLG61.ZIP)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - mckinnis@ibm.net
Set up to run under PMRexx.
6.0 1 Sep 1998 (INETLG60.ZIP)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - mckinnis@ibm.net
Add support for InJoy dialer logs.
5.5 1 Aug 1998 (INETLG55.ZIP)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - mckinnis@ibm.net
Modified REXXUTIL support to avoid dropping functions that might be in
use by other processes.
5.4 1 May 98 (INETLG54.ZIP)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - mckinnis@ibm.net
Removed support for fixing timestamps in old logs. Removed executable
form.
5.3 10 Oct 97 (INETLG53.ZIP)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - mckinnis@ibm.net
Added support for tcpdial.exe.
5.2 15 Apr 97 (INETLG52.ZIP)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - chmckin@ibm.net
Modified to handle errors in connect.log that may be introduced by
abends, etc. Made available in exe form (not compiled).
5.1 15 Jan 97 (INETLG51.ZIP)
Modified by Chuck McKinnis - chmckin@ibm.net
Modified reporting to bypass records without account and userid
information which may have been lost when the log file is condensed by
the system. Modified condense to maintain account and userid
information.
5.0 01 Oct 96 (INETLG50.ZIP)
Added by Chuck McKinnis - chmckin@ibm.net
Maintain monthly summary information by account and userid even though
the connection log may have been pruned. Get information dynamically
from OS/2 and TCP/IP system entries. Added the removal of erroneous EOF
from connection log as a command line option. Made all user options
command line parameters that are retained from session to session in an
ini file. Removed VRexx support. Tested with 1.67 version of
DIALER.EXE and the 1.66 version of TCPDIAL.EXE.
4.9 03 Nov 95 (INETLG49.ZIP)
Some neatening-up of of program. Eliminated check for whether slip &
dialer are running. This program will not work if Dialer is running
because Dialer will have seized control of the connect.log file. I can
live with that.
4.8 (beta) 29 Oct 95 (INETLG48.CMD)
For summer-time -> winter-time clock change or other change in your PC
clock done on-line that sets clock back more than the time-on-line for
that session, catches a negative time-on-line error and tells you how to
correct it.
4.7 (beta) 23 Jul 95 (INETLG47.CMD)
Altered formatting of numbers to allow greater latitude. Got error if
certain low limits were exceeded. Added detect for slip. Now tells you
if connected when you start inetlog, and then aborts. This option
required the use of the GO program (GO_15.ZIP, available off hobbes,
ftp-os2.nmsu.edu, etc.) but was removed in v 4.9 (not felt to be
needed).
4.6 16 Jun 95 (INETLG46.ZIP)
Fixed a bug: removed the very last extraneous line added by my stupid
word processor.
4.5 15 Jun 95 (INETLG45.ZIP)
Advantis Dialer v1.45 (also 1.33 which was distributed as part of Warp
Connect) now has year as part of its date stamp (i.e., 1995/06/13 which
corresponds to 13 Jun 95). I modified INETLOG to work with old, new, or
mixed date formats. Also, I embedded two subroutines within INETLOG to
modify your connection logfile to (1) insert a year where missing so all
records can be brought up to Dialer v1.45 style, and (2) to remove
unneeded lines in the connection log file.
The subroutines and how to use them are described in the ReadMe.1st
documentation. Both bring up rather complete on-line instructions when
you run them. But don't run them until you've got INETLOG.CMD
configured and running normally first. The respective command lines
are:
INETLOG fixlog (to add the year to connect.log entries
where it is missing)
and
INETLOG condense (to remove superfluous lines)
Both are run from an OS/2 window or full-screen session or you can also
add the argument fixlog or condense as a parameter on the program page
of the INETLOG.CMD Settings Notebook.
3.1 11 Jun 95 (INETLG31.ZIP)
Change in how output is formatted.
3.0 18 Mar 95 (INETLOG3.ZIP)
Corrected output filename bug introduced into 2.0. Added features.
2.0 05 Mar 95 (INETLOG2.ZIP)
Numerous cosmetic changes.
1.0 12 Feb 95 (INETLOG.ZIP)
First distribution.
