Disk Librarian was written as an aid to help keep track of the boxes of
Software and Data files I have accumulated over the years.
The program was written using REXX and then Tokenized so you must have
REXX installed on your computer.
To install The program run the Install.cmd file. You will be prompted for
a Drive and directory to install the program to. A WPS Object will be created
on your desktop, double click on the Icon to start Disk Librarian.
I suggest that the first thing you do once the program is running is to
go to the Configuration Screen (ALT+C) and set the Editor and Browser to the
programs you wish to use for each. The default for Browse and Edit are both
TEDIT.EXE which is the fullscreen text editor in the Warp Beta.
The programs that you choose must be in Directories in your PATH statement.
The next step is to start building your Library.
To begin building your library select Add Disks to Library.
The Default drive (Set in the Config menu) will be read to try and get a
disk label. If a label exists it will be written into the entry field for you.
You may leave the label as is or change it. If the label you enter does not
match the label of the disk you will be prompted to change the disk label.
The Library file is a plain text file that includes the Name or Label
of the disk, the total number of files, the Free Space on the disk and the
file listing.
The Following files should be included in this archive:
DiskLib.exe The executable
DiskLib.ico Icon file for Desktop
Install.cmd Installation File
