I am sure there are other folks out there, who like me, would much rather look
up reference material in written form than on the computer screen. It was
that overpowering preference that drove me to create this text file of the
REXX Information file. I spent a fair amount of work doing it. I figured
others ought to get some benefit from my labor to better justify my having
done it, so here it is.
REXXINFO.TXT is a full text copy of the REXX Information file supplied with
OS/2 2.0 GA. It was produced from the "Copy to File" and "Append to File"
options of the pull down menu. I have not made any changes to the file,
except to add a comment that graphics are not shown at the places where the
text makes reference to such. They aren't in the text file output from REXX
Info, only in the on-screen version. I also added section numbers and a
dividing line between the sections, and generated a table of contents. All
this was to make it easier to find subjects of interest.
You will see a "V" in some of the command diagrams. The "V" represents a down
arrowhead, for which ASCII doesn't have a good character.
To print this file make sure your printer is set up for graphics characters
for the extended ASCII codes, and for 12 cpi. The lines are a maximum of 87
characters long, i.e. 7.25" X 12 cpi. Left margin of 3/4" and right margin of
1/2" works good. There is a maximum of 60 lines per page, with a form feed at
the end of each page.
If you find any problems that I should know about, send me a message on CIS.
