  1. This program is being offered as "Donation-ware."  It may be registered by 
  2. sending a donation for my ministry.  Make the check payable to the treasurer, 
  3. Mary Davis and send it to Orthodox Christian Fellowship of Mercy, 
  4. P.O. Box 1107, Thonotosassa, FL 33592.  You'll receive the latest incarnation 
  5. of this program if you give me an email or snail mail address and the 
  6. size of the diskette you need.

  8. This archive contains the following files:
  9. 8DOT3.EXE The actual program.
  10. README.1ST This file.
  11. FILE_ID.DIZ Description file.

  13. This program will allow you to shorten all the filenames in a directory to the 
  14. pattern that your old DOS programs will need in order to see them.
  15.  
  16. To use the program simply open an OS/2 window go to the directory containing 
  17. 8DOT3.EXE and invoke it with the argument of the directory that contains the 
  18. files whose names need shortening.  (e.g. "8dot3 c:\data\download")
