  1. TEAM OS/2 RELATIONS AND PC USER GROUP SUPPORT

  5. Hi.  We are pleased to report that IBM will continue its 
  6. support of Team OS/2 activity in North America for 1996. 
  7. IBM will also support PC user groups and OS/2 special 
  8. interest groups in 1996.
  9.  
  10. IBM has a long history of supporting PC User Group 
  11. activity, and we are committed to supporting this user 
  12. community.  IBM will continue to request invitations to 
  13. present IBM software to user group members, and provide 
  14. evaluation software for user group newsletters.  We will 
  15. sponsor user group officer events such as APCUG/Spring 
  16. Comdex in Chicago June 1-5, and Intergalactic June 15.  Our 
  17. team looks forward to meeting many of you at these events, 
  18. and welcomes e-mail from all user group members who seek
  19. IBM information.
  20.  
  21. IBM appreciates the grassroots marketing and support 
  22. efforts of Team OS/2.  IBM appreciates what Team OS/2 has 
  23. accomplished for OS/2, and would very much like to see that 
  24. enthusiastic support for the product continue.  Teamers who 
  25. hold OS/2 demonstrations will continue to receive materials 
  26. for events from IBM.  The support staff will do more to
  27. communicate information from IBM to Team OS/2, using mailing 
  28. lists and echoes to publish this information.  We'll take 
  29. Teamer requests and concerns back to IBM.  And we'll encourage 
  30. Teamers to help fellow Teamers in promoting and supporting 
  31. OS/2.  With the upcoming beta of Merlin, we want to have 
  32. Teamers help make the new version of Warp as successful as 
  33. possible.

  35. A four person team will be responsible for this activity:  
  36. Anita Venable, Arylnn Poczynek, Richard Woolsey, and Terry 
  37. Hamilton will act as the support group for both Team OS/2 
  38. and PC User Groups.
  39.  
  40. Over the next few weeks, we'll be putting up a set of Web 
  41. pages with more information.  We'll start collecting 
  42. information on Merlin and let you know where and when to 
  43. obtain it.  And we'll keep sending support packages out 
  44. when requested.

  65. Grassroots marketing - successful grassroots marketing - will be
  66. critical to IBM's success with OS/2 Warp.  It's our hope that user
  67. groups and Team OS/2 will find new ways to help users of OS/2, and
  68. encourage others to try OS/2 Warp.
