File: GalCiv_SuperChallenge! (or supergc.zip)
Description:
Contains a beta of the SDS/AI v1.07,
custom GC/AI, and a saved game of a
really exciting universe.
Background:
In this saved game, you are the leader of the OS/2 civilization. You
must survive in a galaxy populated by Windows95, WindowsNT, NextStep,
Macintosh, and Linux.
Requires: GalCiv v1.05 or later.
Custom Rules:
The galaxy has a LOT of class 26 planets.
You and the other players have been given a lot of money.
You are given Universal Translation tech so that you can
talk to the aliens early on. Aliens of unique sets of
text depending on which operating system they represent.
You have been given a class 17 planet to start with also
with lots of good planets near by.
This is going to be the toughest game of GalCiv you've played
yet and hopefully the most exciting. The universe has been
carefully created (we actually created a custom GalCiv.exe at
SDS to create this galaxy and included a custom made gcai.dll
to implement it). You can use the sdsai.dll and gcai.dll for
other games as well but we do not officially support these modules.
To win:
You must survive this game to the end. You don't have
to necesarily conquer everyone else but that would be the
ultimate victory. You can also win by allying with everyone
else if you can.
If you win:
Email wardell@ibm.net with your winning strategy and post
strategy to comp.os.os2.games or the STARDOCK forum on
CompuServe.
Info on GalCiv:
Galactic Civilizations is a native OS/2 game developed by
Stardock Systems, Inc. It is a commercial game that can
be found at many CompUSA's, Eggheads, ElekTek's and more.
You can also order it from Stardock at (313)/782-2248 for
$59.95.
