Guy Scharf to Review Development Tools
for OS/2 DEVELOPER
San Francisco, September 1, 1994 - The publishers of OS/2 DEVELOPER
announced today the launch of a regular OS/2 development tool review
column by Guy Scharf.
Beginning with the January/February 1995 issue, Scharf will review
software development tools from the perspective of a professional
software developer building software solutions on OS/2. "We will give
developers an inside look at tools which could enhance their
productivity in writing high-quality software" says Scharf. "The OS/2
market is growing quickly, so we will provide an important information
source for developers who need to use OS/2 programming tools to reduce
software solution delivery time."
Guy Scharf, a programmer since 1963, is president of Software
Architects, Inc., a development company specializing in OS/2 software
solutions. Scharf manages the OS/2 Vendor Fora on CompuServe, is a
co-founder and treasurer of the OS/2 Bay Area User Group, is the
founder and past president of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the
Independent Computer Consultants Association, and wrote the Advanced
PM Programming column for "OS/2 Monthly" in 1992.
With a circulation of +36,000, OS/2 Developer is the only publication
written for OS/2 development professionals, providing them with
technical information, tips, news, and product announcements to
enhance development and delivery of OS/2 systems and applications.
Miller Freeman also publishes OS/2 MAGAZINE, Dr. Dobb's Journal,
DBMS, Software Development, UNIX Review, The Mathematica Journal, AI
Expert, Database Programming & Design, Microsoft Systems Journal, LAN
Magazine, and Cadence. The third largest trade show producer in North
America, Miller Freeman also produces OS/2 WORLD, Software Development
East & West, Autodesk University, and the Computer Security
Conference. Miller Freeman Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of
