  13. Beta OpenDoc Part Provided with Unite Objects (TM)

  16. Frederick, MD --- September 21, 1995 --- Cirrus Technology, Inc. today 
  17. announced that each Unite Object (Image Viewer, Scanner, and Storager) 
  18. includes a beta OpenDoc part.  OpenDoc technology provides a new model 
  19. for software interoperability by enablingthe creation of distributed, 
  20. cross-platform component software.

  22. Unite Objects provide OS/2 developers and integrators document imaging and 
  23. storage management capabilities including image view, manipulation, object 
  24. storage, CD-ROM creation,  and jukebox management.  The current Unite Objects
  25. are used with development environments such as C/C++, IBM's VisualAge, and 
  26. Watcom's VX-REXX.  As these objects are surfaced as OpenDoc parts, the 
  27. developer can take advantage of all of OpenDoc's benefits and features in 
  28. addition to using production-proven Unite technology.
