FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOCASOFT SHIPS FIRST TWO OS/2 PRODUCTS
BOCA RATON, FL - BocaSoft, the recent start-up headed by two former IBM
software contractors, shipped its first two OS/2 applications, WipeOut
and System Sounds today.
BocaSoft WipeOut is a 32 bit screen saver for OS/2 featuring 18 animated
displays with synchronized digital audio, password protection and on-line
help. And, is the first software application to utilize IBM's Ultimotion
Video Support.
"Teaming WipeOut with IBM's Ultimotion Video Support lets WipeOut users
turn their home videos into screen savers." said Zan Oliphant, BocaSoft
co-founder.
Displays include: bouncing balls, kaleidoscopes, missile launching
spaceships and roaches marching to music, to name only a few.
BocaSoft WipeOut requires OS/2 Version 2, a 3.5" floppy disk drive and 2 MB
of disk space. Digital audio requires MMPM/2 (included with OS/2 2.1) and
an audio card supported by MMPM/2.
BocaSoft System Sounds gives your computer a voice by associating audio
with over 40 audio attachable system events and keystrokes. The program
includes over 1 MB of sound in Microsoft audio format including over 50
popular audio effects from Prosonus, plus keystroke recordings for every
key on the keyboard.
Linking audio could prove to be a boon to avid game players interested
in spicing things up by adding unusual sounds to appropriate keys or to
operators of specialized programs benefiting from audio feedback.
Users can even record their own sounds in a variety of formats, including:
11 kHz, 22 kHz, 44 kHz, 8 bit, 16 bit, as well as stereo or mono recording.
BocaSoft System Sounds requires OS/2 Version 2, a 3.5" floppy disk drive
and 1.5 MB of disk space, MMPM/2 (included with OS/2 2.1) and an audio
card supported by MMPM/2.
Both products include a developer kit to customize applications: WipeOut
allows you to write your own screen saver; System Sounds allows you to
attach audio to your own applications and command files.
"In fact, the new release of Sundial Systems' Relish Time & Information
Organizer uses the BocaSoft System Sounds developer interface to add digital
audio to Relish events." said Oliphant.
Suggested retail for each product is $59
