  44. Pj2 CAD System provides you with a 2D and 3D wire frame CAD 
  45. environment. By using Pj2 you create a large variety of 
  46. graphical entities such as segments, circles, polygons, 
  47. hatchings, texts, dimensions, blocks and splines. 
  48. When managing hatchings, a powerful algorithm allows you 
  49. to hatch very complex perimeters without trimming the border 
  50. entities. Moreover, Pj2 gives you a complete and easy-to-use
  51. set of dimensioning functions complying with the ISO 
  52. standards. When you create a drawing entity, you can enrich 
  53. it with some additional information such as a name. In this 
  54. way you get something more sophisticated than a pure 
  55. graphical entity: you actually obtain an item which is closer 
  56. to a real world object. You can add as much information as 
  57. you like to your Pj2 objects through the Data Base functions 
  58. supplied by the program and exchange it with the external 
  59. world. Pj2 is a flexible system. Take advantage of its 
  60. "contextual menus" to draw easier. Contextual menus are 
  61. command sets, displayed within a screen window, which are 
  62. logically linked to the Pj2 command currently active. 
  63. If you are drawing for instance a segment (that is, a pair 
  64. of points), Pj2 provides you with a contextual menu listing 
  65. the snap commands and the coordinate systems.
  66. Once you have created your Pj2 objects, you can act on 
  67. them in several ways:

  69. - editing with trimming, filletting or chamfering commands;
  70. - applying geometrical transformations such as translations, 
  71.   rotations, extrusions, mirroring and stretching.
  72. - changing attributes such as colors, line types, layers, 
  73.   text attributes and dimension attributes.
  74. - performing viewing operations such as enlargements, 
  75.   reductions, zooming, either within a single window or 
  76.   through multiple viewports.

  78. Getting hard copies of your drawings is easy with Pj2. Simply 
  79. send them to your printer (any printer supported by OS/2) 
  80. by using the Pj2's printing commands or plot them by using 
  81. the utility program PjPlot which supports the most popular 
  82. plotting formats.Do you need to exchange your Pj2 drawings 
  83. with other systems or import foreign drawing formats? Pj2 
  84. provides you with input/output formats such as DXF and IGES.

  88. Pj2 CAD System is a highly customisable package. When using Pj2,
  89. you can interactively adjust your work environment enabling 
  90. startup files and log files (which record all your commands), 
  91. activating Pj2 options such as the display list mode 
  92. (to improve the program's speed), defining your default 
  93. directories (for drawings, macros, blocks, command files), 
  94. associating Pj2 commands to your keyboard keys.
  95. If you are a developer or a system integrator, Pj2 gives you 
  96. an additional customisation tool: the Pj2 Application 
  97. Kit (PAK). The PAK is a software library which allows you to 
  98. create an application program and access the Pj2's functions 
  99. from within it. In principle, you can create your own CAD 
  100. system exploiting the PAK functions. Creating an application 
  101. with the PAK is easy, as you need only standard programming 
  102. tools. You write your application in C or C++ and debug it by 
  103. using the debugger coming with the development kit of your 
  104. language . 
  105. You can also enrich your application with Presentation Manager 
  106. functions. By using the PAK, your application inherits the same 
  107. graphical interface as Pj2. This means that your application 
  108. commands are activated just as standard Pj2 commands, that is 
  109. you cannot distinguish on the screen whether a command is a 
  110. native Pj2 command or coming from your application. Your 
  111. application can also share some properties of the native Pj2 
  112. commands, such as driving subcommands. In this way you drive 
  113. Pj2 subcommands such as selection commands 
  114. or snap commands directly from within your application.
