OS/2 WORLD CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION, THE FIRST CORPORATE
CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO OS/2, DEBUTS JULY 1994

SAN FRANCISCO, NOVEMBER 15, 1993 -- The first annual OS/2 WORLD Conference & Exhibition will be the premier event for corporate OS/2 users and managers in 1994. This event , produced by Miller Freeman Inc., will offer more than 100 technical classes, one-day tutorials, special insights into IBM strategy, and a world-class exhibit floor. OS/2 WORLD will be held July 19-22, 1994, at the Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, Calif.
OS/2 WORLD's technical program will consist of one-hour lectures and two-hour workshops, taught by leading independent consultants and experts with field experience. The curriculum will teach OS/2 users and managers how to integrate OS/2 into their enterprise computing systems, through tracks like Client/Server Computing, Enterprise Area Networking, Systems Administration, Corporate Multimedia, Enterprise Software Development, and more. OS/2 WORLD classes will be offered for front-line systems administration personnel, knowledgeable end-users, and corporate IS managers.
OS/2 WORLD will open on Tuesday, July 19, with full-day tutorials in key OS/2 skill areas. The main technical conference program will be held July 20-22. The product exhibition hall, open July 19-21, will have more than 150 booths available for demonstration of OS/2-specific hardware, software, and services.
Miller Freeman Inc., publishers of more than 45 trade magazines and 60 technical conferences, has announced this new conference simultaneously with the launch of its newest magazine, OS/2 Magazine. "OS/2 WORLD represents another step in developing a well-rounded group of top-notch computer and electronics conferences and exhibitions here at Miller Freeman," said Don Pazour, Vice-President of Miller Freeman's High-Tech Division.

OS/2 WORLD will be owned and produced by Miller Freeman, in cooperation with IBM's Personal Software Products Division. "OS/2 WORLD is an idea whose time has come," said Peter Hayes, Director of Communications for IBM Personal Software Products.
