PCX INTRODUCES LINKWIZ
File transfer utility supports OS/2,
Windows, DOS at the same time
SOLANA BEACH, CALIF., June 5, 1995
_ The dance is over for OS/2, Windows and
MS/PC-DOS users tired of shuffling from
disk drive to disk drive, floppy disk in
hand, just to copy a file from one computer
to another.
LINKWIZ from PCX is a new
file-transfer designed for "road warriors"
with a computer at work, another at home
and a notebook for traveling. It's also
designed for users frustrated by
multimedia, graphics and other large files
that exceed the capacity of a floppy, and
users trudging between computers to
exchange, transfer and copy files.
Uniquely, LINKWIZ is especially
designed for corporate, government and
other users working with multiple operating
systems.
LINKWIZ makes file transfers fast,
convenient and error-free with graphical
interfaces that operate under OS/2 2.1,
OS/2 Warp and OS/2 Warp Connect, Windows
3.0 and higher, Windows for Workgroups
3.11, and MS/PC-DOS 3.1 and higher.
With this unique ability to operate
across platforms and in multiple
environments, the software transfers files
from one computer to another even when the
source computer is operating under OS/2,
for example, and the target computer is
operating under Windows or DOS.
Under OS/2 and Windows 3.1, LINKWIZ
supports drag-and-drop file transfers --
and is able to clone an entire source
computer onto a target computer.
The utility software also features
file and disk management capabilities.
LINKWIZ provides high-speed
data-transfer with built-in error
correction, moving up to 8MB a minute over
special parallel and serial cables that
come with the software.
LINKWIZ is available immediately
for $149 SRP from software retailers and
value-added resellers, and from mail-order
vendors such as Indelible Blue. It is
distributed by Micro Central.
The software is also available
direct from PCX.
Based in Solana Beach, PCX is also
the developer and marketer of OS/2
BAKUPWIZ, backup software for OS/2, and the
PortaTape line of tape backup drives, with
capacities ranging from 250 megabytes to 10
gigabytes.
