FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
IOMEGA'S LEADING BERNOULLI SOLUTIONS
NOW AVAILABLE TO OS/2 USERS
Roy, Utah, May 7, 1990 -- Users who want the power of
the OS/2 operating system environment can now use Bernoulli
mass storage products, Iomega Corp. announced today. The
Bernoulli for OS/2 software attachment package includes both
device drivers and utilities for complete support of the
OS/2 operating system.
"OS/2's multi-tasking and large memory capabilities in
the 386 desktop environment are driving strong demand for
higher capacities and reliability in mass storage," said
Fred Wenninger, Iomega president and CEO. "OS/2 users
quickly find that fixed disks alone are inadequate to meet
the needs for both data growth and data protection."
"During pre-release product testing, we learned OS/2
users experience an explosion in data storage requirements.
They need at least two to four times more storage than they
needed with DOS," added Steve Powell, Iomega product
manager.
In addition to high speed and capacity, Bernoulli's
unique technology resists head crash, utilizes 15 times
better electronic data protection, and automatically
replaces marginal sectors, all of which are critical to
providing security for OS/2 users data.
The company's Bernoulli for OS/2 drivers attach to the
system through the loadable device driver interface and
provide full support for removability. The drivers conform
fully to OS/2 specifications for attachment; any Bernoulli
device supported by the drivers attaches as a normal OS/2
device.
The Bernoulli for OS/2 drivers and utilities are
available immediately. The suggested retail price is $99.00
Iomega Corp., Roy, Utah, develops, manufactures and
sells high-performance removable mass storage products.
Iomega's patented Bernoulli technology provides unlimited
data storage capability by combining the removability,
transportability and security of floppy disks with the high
capacity and performance of hard disks. Iomega's stock is
traded on NASDAQ, under the symbol IOMG.
