  1.                      DEVICE DRIVER DEVELOPER INFORMATION

  4. Our group, the Driver Development Support Center (DDSC) team, has the mission
  5. to provide WORLDWIDE support to ALL device driver developers.  These
  6. developers include folks such as Independent Hardware Vendors, Independent
  7. Software Vendors, Consultants, Personal Computer Manufacturers, Original
  8. Equipment Manufactures (OEM's), IBM personnel, etc....
  9.  
  10. The DDSC has established the following procedures to support device driver
  11. developers:
  12.  
  13. o  IBM DEVICE DRIVER SOURCE KIT FOR OS/2 (71G3703)
  14.  
  15.    Ordering procedures for the Device Driver Kit for OS/2 (DDK) vary with the
  16.    various world geographies.  This includes all IBM orders.
  17.  
  18.    ORDERING THE DEVICE DRIVER KIT
  19.    The DDK is available to developers who are currently developing or planning
  20.    to develop OS/2 device drivers.  The price includes a year of future
  21.    generally available DDK releases.

  23.    To obtain the DDK in the U.S., contact IBM US Direct Response Marketing at
  24.    800-633-8266.  Method of shipment will be determined by customer preference
  25.    at time of ordering.

  27.    Telephone access numbers for ordering the DDK in Canada, EMEA/LA, and AP
  28.    are as follows:

  30.    -   Canada- the number is 1-800-465-7999.
  31.    -   EMEA/LA- the phone number is dependent upon the language required for
  32.        communication.  The customer is calling the service center in
  33.        Copenhagen:

  44.        Please note that the customer needs to add the international dialing
  45.        code for Denmark (Danish telephone numbers are always 8 digits).

  48.        is calling.

  52. o  TECHNICAL SUPPORT
  53.  
  54.    Worldwide support for device driver developers, using the DDK, will be
  55.    provided by the Driver Development Support Center (DDSC) team in Boca
  56.    Raton.  Technical development questions should be directed to the team
  57.    using the following method:

  59.    DRIVER DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT CENTER SYSTEM
  60.    Using a PC and modem, device driver developers should place a call to the
  61.    DDSC computer system at (407) 982-3217.  After completing a self-
  62.    registration, they will have limited access to the system.  Additional
  63.    information on DDSC operations and system operations will be presented on
  64.    the system after registration.

  66.    Within one business day, the DDSC team will verify completion of the
  67.    registration information, upgrade the developer's access level to NORMAL,
  68.    and notify the developer.

  70. o  EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS?
  71.  
  72.    Developers experiencing problems connecting to the DDSC system can call
  73.    (407) 982-4239 where they will hear a recorded message directing them to
  74.    leave a name and phone number.  The messages are retrieved throughout the
  75.    day, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Eastern time.  A member of the DDSC
  76.    team will return the call by the end of the next business day.
