  6. The DCF/2 is an "on-the-fly" data compression
  7. facility which allows you to increase the effective
  8. data storage capacity of your OS/2 computer system.

  10. Using the DCF/2, you can expand your available hard
  11. disk space - an average of 2.5:1 for typical user
  12. file mixes.

  14. If you have used traditional "on-the-fly" data
  15. compression products -- get ready!  The DCF/2 is
  16. unlike anything you've used before.  You don't need
  17. to commit yourself or your entire system to data
  18. compression in order to try it.

  26. Performance File System (HPFS) formatted compressed
  27. storage devices which are actually stored on your
  28. existing disks.  Any OS/2 disk can be used,
  29. including FAT, HPFS, Floppies, and even LAN drives!

  32. still enjoy the benefits of the HPFS file system
  33. without changing anything!

  135. The first display, above, shows the VDU's average compression ratio (ACR),
  136. the content of the compressed volume, the amount of virtual storage (files
  137. you have stored on the volume), and the amount of physical space that is
  138. actually used.

  223. many virtual disk units as you have drive letters
  224. available.  You can 'put' those VDU's on any of
  225. your existing disk units as long as you are running
  226. OS/2.11 or OS/2 Warp.

  228. If you are running OS/2 Warp and the High
  229. Performance File System is not installed, you must
  230. exit the DCF/2 install program and use OS/2's
  231. SELECTIVE INSTALL feature (plus your OS/2 disks) to
  232. install the HPFS.  (It isn't difficult and requires
  233. only a few minutes.)

  240. "test drive" version of the DCF/2.  This test drive version
  241. is identical to a fully licensed version of the DCF/2 except

  263. full version and $49.95 for the DCF/2 Lite.  DCF/2 Lite is
  264. identical to the Full DCF/2, except it only supports one
  265. virtual disk unit.
