  5. IBM's state-of-the-art System Object Model (SOM) and Workplace
  6. Shell technology, is a complete software package for creating
  7. your own custom CDs. CD-ROM discs can hold more than 600 MB of
  8. data and are readable by virtually any DOS, Windows, OS/2, and
  9. UNIX system with a CD-ROM drive. Unite CD-Maker simplifies the

  24. OS/2 cannot normally recognize a CD-recordable device as a
  25. CD-ROM reader.  Unite CDlMaker device drivers overcome this
  26. limitation, allowing the CD-recordable drive to be used for both
  27. reading and writing! No second CD-ROM drive is necessary!

  31. - OS/2 compatible system running OS/2 WARP Version 3.0 or later
  32. - PC 486/33 or higher
  33. - 8 MB of RAM minimum / 16 MB recommended
  34. - Hard disk drive
  35.   Disk drive space:  4 MB for installation and up to 650 MB for
  36.     each virtual CD image file.
  37.   Disk drive speed:
  38.   Single speed recording: most standard hard drives
  39.   Double or quad speed recording:  Fast hard disk with an average
  40.     seek time of 12 milliseconds or faster and transfer rate of 1.2
  41.     MB per second or better.

  64. ALLOWS PRE-WRITE TEST BURNS

  66. Before writing to the disc, the Unite CD-Maker software lets you
  67. run a "test burn" to verify  that your system is fast enough to
  68. perform a successful write at the selected speed.

  70. MULTI-THREADED PERFORMANCE

  72. Unite CD-Maker takes full advantage of OS/2's multi-tasking
  73. capabilities to increase the speed and reliability of CD
  74. creation. Unite CD-Maker uses multiple "threads" to read data
  75. from the hard drive and write data to the CD-R drive
  76. simultaneously. This performance boost allows you to burn your
  77. CDs at higher speeds. The multi-threaded design also provides a
  78. user-adjustable memory buffer and visual buffer meter to greatly
  79. reduce the chance of failed burns. No DOS or Windows CD-making
  80. software can provide these features!

  85. universal interchangeability of CD-ROMs.  Established by the
  86. International Standards Organization (ISO), the ISO 9660 format

  88. to a variety of computer platforms.  Unite CD-Maker creates
  89. CD-ROM discs that can be read by virtually any DOS, Windows,
