OS/2 2.0 FACILITIES AND INSTALLATION WORKSHOPS: HOUSTON & CHICAGO
This course teaches the student how to plan for and install the OS/2
version 2 base operating system.
It will also discuss the utilization and design of the OS/2 Base Oper-
ating System. The internal operating structure along with tuning tips
are also presented. Also covered are the customization and setup of
Window/DOS applications, printer setups and migration considerations.
After completing this course, you should be able to:
-- Plan an OS/2 installation both from the user perspective and
from a technical support perspective
-- Install an OS/2 operating system
-- Answer questions about OS/2 installation requirements
-- Answer questions concerning the performance of OS/2
and HPFS (High Performance File System) options for disk management
-- Configure and add Windows/DOS applications
-- Customize and tune OS/2 system files for optimum performance
-- Create and use printers
-- Run DOS or Windows programs using the Multiple DOS Virtual
Machine (MDVM) feature
