  4. OVERVIEW
  5.  
  6. IBM is initiating a Beta program for future versions of their LAN
  7. Systems products.  The software is being made available solely for
  8. the purpose of testing and development feedback and should NOT be
  9. used in production.
  10.  
  11. The following product is now available through the Beta program:
  12.  
  13. * OS/2 SPM/2 2.0
  14.  
  15. SPM/2 2.0 is an integrated package of powerful facilities that allow
  16. you to monitor resources such as CPU, RAM, disk and more on your local
  17. and remote IBM Operating System/2 2.0.  SPM/2's ability to graph this
  18. resource information allows you to look at "live" data as well as
  19. "prerecorded" data for any monitored workstation in your LAN.

  22. *   Collects critical resource utilization data: CPU, memory, files,
  23.     swap file, FAT/HPFS cache, physical disk, printer and
  24.     communication port
  25.  
  26. *   Records performance data to disk for processing at a later time
  27.  
  28. *   Collects data from multiple nodes in a single recording session
  29.  
  30. *   Provides a real-time graphical representation of how system
  31.     resources are being used (CPU, disk, RAM and swap activity) as
  32.     well as the ability to playback previously recorded data.
  33.  
  34. *   Produces detailed resource utilization reports (from recorded
  35.     data) that can be summarized by workstation, application,
  36.     process or thread
  37.  
  38. *   Provides in-depth OS/2 2.0 memory analysis information (including
  39.     working set and a view of OS/2 control blocks)
  40.  
  41. *   Monitoring of remote OS/2 LAN Requester as well as Servers
  42.

  49.     reproduction and distribution costs.
