  3.                Pre-General Availability Announcement

  6. Pre-General Availability (GA) packages of IBM LAN Server 3.0 (Entry and
  7. Advanced), IBM Network Transport Services/2 (NTS/2) and IBM Extended
  8. Services Configuration, Installation, and Distribution Utility  (ESCID)
  9. are available for a media and handling charge.  These packages are for
  10. those customers who have ordered one of these products and have mission
  11. critical business requirements to receive the product before the
  12. General Availability date.

  14. The program materials are identical to the product at general
  15. availability and will not require reinstallation when the shrink
  16. wrapped program package is received.  This Pre-General Availability
  17. package becomes the customers backup copy when the shrink wrapped
  18. program package is received.

  20. The ship group publications are included in the pre-GA packages in an
  21. online format.  IBM SAA BookManager READ/2 Ver 1.2.1 is required to
  22. access the online publications for NTS/2 and LAN Server 3.0.

  33. Authorized dealers may access the FAX documents by calling the number
  34. above and following the voice prompts.  Press 1 for IBM Authorized
  35. Dealer. Press 1 that you are familiar with the system.  Enter your
  36. Dealer Code.  Press 2 to order a catalog.  Press 3 to order the LAN
  37. and Operating system information catalog.  Follow the voice prompts
  38. to have the catalog sent to your FAX machine.  When the catalog
  39. arrives locate the package you are interested in, call 1-800-426-3395
  40. and follow the voice prompts to request the package.
