IBM Developer Assistance Program
IBM's Developer Assistance Program provides
technical information and assistance to help you
design and develop products for IBM Operating
System/2 and IBM DOS.
We provide technical support for IBM software and
hardware products to program participants.
Questions are answered by product specialists.
We also provide defect support to program members
for all warranted products that are supported by
the IBM Support Center.
Do you have the latest corrective service
diskettes?, if not, you can call an 800 number to
obtain your copy.
IBM conducts a variety of advanced technical
education classes at location throughout the
United States. These classes provide the
opportunity for you to enhance your development
skills.
Technical mailings provide current information
directly from IBM to you. This information is
provided in the technical bulletins and the IBM
PERSONAL SYSTEMS DEVELOPER, a quarterly
publication.
We offer discounts on selected software and
hardware products to recognize developers who are
committed to developing products for IBM OS/2 and
IBM DOS.
We provide advertising assistance to you by
publishing qualified products in the IBM OS/2
APPLICATION GUIDE and the CATALOG-MICRO CHANNEL
ADAPTORS.
IBM is dedicated to supporting developers and to
sharing knowledge and experience for the continued
growth of Personal System/2 products in the
dynamic world of personal computing.
ELIGIBILITY:
The IBM Developer Assistance Program is for
developers working on products for commercial
release. You are eligible to participate in the
program if:
o You develop products that support IBM Operating
System/2 and IBM DOS.
o Your company is a U.S. company or the U.S.
subsidiary of a non-U.S. company.
o You are currently marketing your products. If
not, you may submit a non-confidential detailed
business plan showing marketing and development
activities and schedules. IBM reserves the
right to accept or reject an application based
on this business plan.

After you are accepted into the program, we will
send a confirmation package, including information
on how to obtain technical support and specific
information on the discount programs.
Technical documentation is available for all IBM
Products. When you are unable to locate the
answer to your question in the documentation,
assistance is available directly from IBM.
Electronic technical support for questions on IBM
software, hardware products and publications is
available. Most questions are acknowledged by
product specialists within 24 hours.
IBM offers a variety of classes and seminars that
address your technical training needs. Classes
provide current, in-depth material on IBM products
and include lectures, hands-on training and the
opportunity to discuss topics of interest with IBM
developers.
Technical support and educations are supplemented
by technical publications and mailings.
THE IBIM PERSONAL SYSTEMS DEVELOPER is a quarterly
publication containing both technical (coding
examples and programming tips and techniques) and
non-technical information (new marketing programs,
educations training and resources). This
publications is mailed quarterly to those enrolled
in the program.
ON LINE ESDTOOLS:
ESDTOOLS are available to members of the Developer
Assistance Program. ESDTOOLS feature productivity
aids for developers to help them develop OS/2
Applications. These aids consists of:
o Development tools
o Demonstration programs
o Sample source programs
SUBSTANTIAL DISCOUNTS:
Discounts on selected IBM software products are
available to you if you are enrolled in the
Developer Assistance Program. You may order many
of the IBM products required for your development
work directly form IBM through an 800 number or by
mail. Shipment is usually made within 48 hours.
Products such as OS/2, technical documentation,
toolkits, and personal systems language (compiler)
products are available at a savings. The discount
applies to products in the IBM TECHNICAL
DIRECTORY, which contains more than 100 technical
software and hardware publications.
We periodically offer special offerings at a
substantial savings of IBM products to developers.
Information on these special offerings is provided
to developers enrolled in the program.
REBATES:
A rebate off the IBM suggested single unit price
is available directly from IBM to developers who
purchase selected IBM hardware products for
development, research, training and business
shows. A limited number of PS/2 systems per year
may be purchased from an IBM authorized dealer
under this program. Selected models of the PS/2
systems and more than 50 options are included in
this offer. The rebate applies to options
purchased at the same time as the system units.

provide you an ID number. You also will receive
written confirmation of the number assigned.
