  5. IBM's Developer Assistance Program provides
  6. technical information and assistance to help you
  7. design and develop products for IBM Operating
  8. System/2 and IBM DOS.
  9.  
  10. We provide technical support for IBM software and
  11. hardware products to program participants.
  12. Questions are answered by product specialists.
  13.  
  14. We also provide defect support to program members
  15. for all warranted products that are supported by
  16. the IBM Support Center.
  17.  
  18. Do you have the latest corrective service
  19. diskettes?, if not, you can call an 800 number to
  20. obtain your copy.
  21.  
  22. IBM conducts a variety of advanced technical
  23. education classes at location throughout the
  24. United States.    These classes provide the
  25. opportunity for you to enhance your development
  26. skills.

  28. Technical mailings provide current information
  29. directly from IBM to you.  This information is
  30. provided in the technical bulletins and the IBM
  31. PERSONAL SYSTEMS DEVELOPER, a quarterly
  32. publication.

  34. We offer discounts on selected software and
  35. hardware products to recognize developers who are
  36. committed to developing products for IBM OS/2 and
  37. IBM DOS.

  39. We provide advertising assistance to you by
  40. publishing qualified products in the IBM OS/2
  41. APPLICATION GUIDE and the CATALOG-MICRO CHANNEL
  42. ADAPTORS.

  44. IBM is dedicated to supporting developers and to
  45. sharing knowledge and experience for the continued
  46. growth of Personal System/2 products in the
  47. dynamic world of personal computing.

  49. ELIGIBILITY:
  50.  
  51. The IBM Developer Assistance Program is for
  52. developers working on products for commercial
  53. release.  You are eligible to participate in the
  54. program if:
  55.  
  56. o  You develop products that support IBM Operating
  57.    System/2 and IBM DOS.
  58.  
  59. o  Your company is a U.S. company or the U.S.
  60.    subsidiary of a non-U.S. company.
  61.  
  62. o  You are currently marketing your products.  If
  63.    not, you may submit a non-confidential detailed
  64.    business plan showing marketing and development
  65.    activities and schedules.  IBM reserves the
  66.    right to accept or reject an application based
  67.    on this business plan.

  82. send a confirmation package, including information
  83. on how to obtain technical support and specific
  84. information on the discount programs.

  86. Technical documentation is available for all IBM
  87. Products.  When you are unable to locate the
  88. answer to your question in the documentation,
  89. assistance is available directly from IBM.

  91. Electronic technical support for questions on IBM
  92. software, hardware products and publications is
  93. available.  Most questions are acknowledged by
  94. product specialists within 24 hours.

  96. IBM offers a variety of classes and seminars that
  97. address your technical training needs.    Classes
  98. provide current, in-depth material on IBM products
  99. and include lectures, hands-on training and the
  100. opportunity to discuss topics of interest with IBM
  101. developers.

  103. Technical support and educations are supplemented
  104. by technical publications and mailings.

  106. THE IBIM PERSONAL SYSTEMS DEVELOPER is a quarterly
  107. publication containing both technical (coding
  108. examples and programming tips and techniques) and
  109. non-technical information (new marketing programs,
  110. educations training and resources).  This
  111. publications is mailed quarterly to those enrolled
  112. in the program.

  114. ON LINE ESDTOOLS:

  116. ESDTOOLS are available to members of the Developer
  117. Assistance Program.  ESDTOOLS feature productivity
  118. aids for developers to help them develop OS/2
  119. Applications.  These aids consists of:

  122. o Demonstration programs
  123. o Sample source programs
  124.  
  125. SUBSTANTIAL DISCOUNTS:

  127. Discounts on selected IBM software products are
  128. available to you if you are enrolled in the
  129. Developer Assistance Program.  You may order many
  130. of the IBM products required for your development
  131. work directly form IBM through an 800 number or by
  132. mail.  Shipment is usually made within 48 hours.

  134. Products such as OS/2, technical documentation,
  135. toolkits, and personal systems language (compiler)
  136. products are available at a savings.  The discount
  137. applies to products in the IBM TECHNICAL
  138. DIRECTORY, which contains more than 100 technical
  139. software and hardware publications.

  141. We periodically offer special offerings at a
  142. substantial savings of IBM products to developers.
  143. Information on these special offerings is provided
  144. to developers enrolled in the program.

  148. A rebate off the IBM suggested single unit price
  149. is available directly from IBM to developers who
  150. purchase selected IBM hardware products for
  151. development, research, training and business
  152. shows.    A limited number of PS/2 systems per year
  153. may be purchased from an IBM authorized dealer
  154. under this program.  Selected models of the PS/2
  155. systems and more than 50 options are included in
  156. this offer.  The rebate applies to options
  157. purchased at the same time as the system units.
