TITLE NEW CURRICULUM FOR OS/2 COMMUNICATIONS AND LAN SERVICES
ABSTRACT IBM announces nine new courses supporting the OS/2 (R)
Communications Manager component of OS/2 Extended Services 1.0 and
OS/2 LAN Server 2.0. To best satisfy the individual requirements of
customers, all courses are task oriented, modular and easily
customized for on-site delivery by systems engineers who have been
certified to teach the courses.
A new course numbering system is used to aid students in
selecting the appropriate education. Courses with the lowest course
numbers address the new or less experienced student, while courses
with higher course numbers are intended for students who have
completed prerequisite courses or who are experienced users of the
OS/2 Communications Manager and/or the LAN Server.
All courses will be available in the second quarter of 1992
for open enrollment or as private customer class offerings.
The following courses are being announced to support the OS/2
Communications component of OS/2 Extended Services 1.0:
o OS/2 Communications: Introduction to OS/2 for the Communications
Manager User Workshop (G4101)
o OS/2 Communications: Networking Workshop (G4501)
o OS/2 Communications: Networking Topics (G4502)
o OS/2 Communications: Migrating to Extended Services 1.0 (G4510)
o OS/2 Communications: OS/2 Software Distribution Facilities
(G4701).
The following courses are being announced to support OS/2 LAN
Server 2.0:
o OS/2 LAN Services: Introduction for OS/2 and DOS users Workshop
(G4160)
o OS/2 LAN Services: Basic LAN Administration Workshop (G4360)
o OS/2 LAN Services: Advanced LAN Administration Workshop (G4560)
o OS/2 LAN Services: Moving OS/2 LAN Server from 1.3 to 2.0 --
Advanced Topics (G4565).
For on-site classes, if a local instructor is not available, a
travel and living charge will be added. For additional information
about private classes, refer to Education Announcements 490-073,
dated June 19, 1990, and 491-066, dated May 7, 1991.
For schedule, location and enrollment information, private and
custom class requests, call IBM Direct -- Education at
