  1. Class Act Software announces the availability of APPC/STV.

  3. APPC/STV is a class library which provides an implementation of
  4. LU 6.2 (APPC) for developers who program in Smalltalk/V PM.
  5.  
  6. With close to 100 methods, APPC/STV provides the Smalltalk/V PM 
  7. programmer with all the tools necessary to start and stop APPC 
  8. transaction programs and to allocate, deallocate, synchronize and
  9. control both basic and mapped APPC conversations.  The APPC verbs
  10. supported include:

  27. - REQUEST_TO_SEND

  29. - SEND_ERROR

  32. APPC/STV provides everything necessary for peer-to-peer communication
  33. between a Smalltalk/V PM application and another application running 
  34. on any platform which supports APPC.  The possibilities include PC to
  35. PC, PC to midrange and PC to mainframe.  The partner applications do 
  36. not have to be written in Smalltalk/V PM.

  38. The peer-to-peer conversations made possible by APPC/STV provide an
  39. infrastructure on which the developer can build any or all of the 
  40. following application models:

  44. - local/remote IPC
  45. - distributed processing

  47. APPC/STV requires OS/2 1.3 EE or OS/2 2.0 with Extended Services.
