  10. ABSTRACT          The Intel i860 (1) OS/2 (R) Software Development Tools is a

  44.            DESCRIPTION
  45.                   The Intel i860 OS/2 Software Development Tools is a
  46.            vendor-logo offering that enables the application developer to take
  47.            advantage of the PS/2 Wizard Adapter.  It consists of basic software
  48.            development tools and C compiler/C library.
  49.                   The basic software tools include the assembler, linker and
  50.            instruction simulator/debug facility.  The assembler provides access
  51.            to i860 microprocessor hardware capabilities.  System performance
  52.            analysis can be performed using the instruction simulator/debug
  53.            facility in a software-only environment; (for example, without the
  54.            PS/2 Wizard Adapter).  These tools are cross-hosted to be run on a
  55.            386/486-based system, such as the IBM Personal System/2 (R) Model 70
  56.            or 80.
  57.                   The High C Compiler supports the draft ANSI Standard (ANSI
  58.            document XJ311/88-090, December 7, 1988) with additional
  59.            enhancements.  A run time library is supplied with the compiler.  The
  60.            C Library provides all ANSI C functions.  Many are written in
  61.            assembly language to deliver maximum performance on the i860
  62.            microprocessor.
  63.                   Developers of OS/2 applications can utilize the capabilities
  64.            of the PS/2 Wizard Adapter by structuring the application to take
  65.            advantage of the 386/486 and the i860 processors.  A highly
  66.            interactive, SAA (TM)-compliant portion of the application can be
  67.            written using standard SAA language such as C/2 (TM), with the
  68.            appropriate set of PM calls.  This portion of the application
  69.            executes on the 386/486.  The compute-intensive portion of the
  70.            application is written using one of the languages in the Intel i860
  71.            OS/2 Development Tools.  These two portions of the application are
  72.            separately compiled and linked.  The 386/486 portion is initially
  73.            given control and is written to load and execute the i860 portion as
  74.            needed.
  75.                   Alternatively, for applications that do not need to be SAA
  76.            compliant, and are coded entirely in ANSI-C, the entire application
  77.            can be written to execute on the i860.  While this does not take full
  78.            advantage of the multiple processors available in the system, and the
  79.            I/O associated with the application will not be as efficient, it may
  80.            be the fastest port for existing applications.

  161.                   The Intel i860 OS/2 Software Development Tools uses the
  162.            security and auditability features of the host operating system.
  163.                   User management is responsible for evaluation, selection, and
  164.            implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and
  165.            appropriate controls in application systems and communication
  166.            facilities.
  167. ORDERING   ORDERING INFORMATION
  168.                   Orders for new licenses will be accepted now.  Unless a later
  169.            date is specified, orders entered prior to the the planned
  170.            availability date will be assigned a schedule date of
  171.            December 29, 1989.  Shipment of orders will commence on the
  172.            availability date.  Orders entered after the planned availability
  173.            date will be scheduled for shipment on the Friday following the week
  174.            of order entry or as soon thereafter as supply permits.

  187.            LIMITED WARRANTY:  Not warranted by IBM.  Warranty, if any, is as
  188.            provided by the program supplier.  Address any questions pertaining

  191.            will be available during the first three months following the date of
  192.            delivery to the customer by IBM, but no later than December 31, 1990.

  215. ABSTRACT          The PS/2 (R) Wizard Adapter, with a 33MHz Intel i860 (1)
  216.            microprocessor, enhances PS/2 systems by offering high levels of
  217.            numeric-intensive processing capability in a standard PS/2.  The IBM
  218.            PS/2 Wizard Adapter (#3462, 34F3062) is an application accelerator
  219.            busmaster card for the IBM PS/2 Models 70 and 80 that significantly
  220.            increases performance by adding the Intel i860 microprocessor for
  221.            advanced, numeric-intensive applications.  The i860 processor
  222.            features a RISC integer core, an advanced floating point processing
  223.            unit, a graphics unit, internal instruction cache and internal data
  224.            cache in a single 1-million transistor chip.  The adapter also
  225.            contains 2MB of random access memory (RAM), which is expandable to a
  226.            total of 8MB using the IBM PS/2 Wizard Memory Expansion Option
  227.            (#3461, 34F3061).
  228.                   The IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter uses a set of application device
  229.            drivers, shipped with the product, that enable operation with
  230.            Operating System/2 (TM) (OS/2 (R)).  It is IBM's intention to provide
  231.            AIX (TM) support for the IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter on PS/2 systems in a
  232.            future release.  The Intel i860 Microprocessor OS/2 Software
  233.            Development Tools, a software toolkit that enables developers to port
  234.            applications for IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter, has been developed by Intel
  235.            and is available for purchase from IBM.

  264.            DESCRIPTION
  265.                   The IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter is a RISC-based application
  266.            accelerator for the IBM PS/2 Models 70 and 80 that uses the Intel
  267.            i860 microprocessor.  It is intended to provide high performance in a
  268.            standard general-purpose PS/2 for users with both numeric-intensive
  269.            applications and standard personal computer applications (word
  270.            processing, spreadsheets).
  271.                   The i860 microprocessor (announced by Intel on
  272.            February 27, 1989) is a RISC integer core and contains an advanced
  273.            floating point processor, a graphics unit and internal instruction
  274.            and data cache integrated in a single one-million transistor chip.
  275.                   The IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter contains 2MB of DRAM (85
  276.            nanosecond).  The application or subroutine running on Wizard resides
  277.            in this on-card memory.  Users with application requirements greater
  278.            than 2MB can select the IBM PS/2 Wizard Memory Expansion Option
  279.            adapter.  This adapter attaches to the IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter and
  280.            provides the user with an additional 6MB of memory, for a maximum of
  281.            8MB.
  282.                   The IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter operates under IBM Operating
  283.            System/2 Standard Edition Version 1.1 and IBM Operating System/2
  284.            Extended Edition Version 1.1, and later versions, through the use of
  285.            application device drivers shipped with this product.  These drivers
  286.            control the use of the i860 processor and provide interface functions
  287.            to the 80386/80486.
  288.                   In order to take advantage of IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter,
  289.            applications must be recompiled to run with the i860 processor, using
  290.            the Intel i860 Microprocessor OS/2 Software Development Tools.  These
  291.            tools include a Simulator Linker, Assembler, Debugger, C Compilers
  292.            and Libraries.  This toolkit is available through IBM (refer to
  293.            Programming Announcement 289-638, dated November 14, 1989).  Intel
  294.            intends to provide a FORTRAN Toolkit (including FORTRAN Vectorizer)
  295.            for OS/2 FORTRAN applications.
  296.                   Developers of OS/2 applications can utilize the capabilities
  297.            of the PS/2 Wizard Adapter by structuring the application to take
  298.            advantage of the 386/486 and the i860 processors.  A highly

  378.            LIMITATIONS:  The IBM PS/2 Model 80-111 and 80-311 require planar
  379.            EC C00835 in order to operate with the IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter.
  380.            Customers with PS/2 Model 80-111 with serial numbers 72-6000000
  381.            through 72-6039999 or PS/2 Model 80-311 with serial numbers
  382.            72-65000000 through 72-6509999 should contact their IBM
  383.            representative or authorized dealer for information on obtaining this
  384.            modification.
  385.                   Only one IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter may be installed per system
  386.            unit.  Only one IBM PS/2 Wizard Memory Expansion Option may be
  387.            installed per system unit.
  388.                   Two system expansion slots must be allocated for the IBM PS/2
  389.            Wizard Adapter, due to power constraints.  If the user has installed
  390.            both the IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter and the IBM PS/2 Wizard Memory
  391.            Expansion Option, the two allocated slots will be sufficient.
  392.            USER GROUP REQUIREMENTS:  None.
  393.            PLANNING INFORMATION
  394.            TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR THE LIMITED AVAILABILITY DEVELOPER SUPPORT
  395.            PROGRAM (LADSP):  During the limited availability period, IBM is
  396.            providing direct support via an 800 number for all end-user
  397.            developers.  The number is 1-800-IBM-5511.  To qualify for this
  398.            support, the "Service Registration Card" must be returned to IBM.
  399.                   Hardware defect support will be handled by the normal
  400.            warranty/service process.  Software support, both defect and
  401.            development guidance, will be provided by Central Service at the
  402.            above number to registered end users.
  403.                   Support available will include:
  404.            o   Licensed software defect identification/resolution
  405.            o   Wizard application porting considerations
  406.            o   Programming techniques.
  407.                   The IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter and IBM PS/2 Wizard Memory
  408.            Expansion Option are designated as customer setup.
  409.            CABLE ORDERS:  The IBM PS/2 Wizard Memory Expansion Option is shipped
  410.            with a cable that enables attachment to the IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter.
  411.            No other cables are required.
  412.            INSTALLABILITY:  Anticipated customer setup time for the IBM PS/2
  413.            Wizard Adapter is one hour, including the time required to load the
  414.            application device driver included with the IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter.
  415.            PROBLEM DETERMINATION:  The end user is responsible for problem
  416.            determination.  Power-on Self Test (POST) diagnostics are provided as
  417.            a feature of the IBM PS/2 Wizard Adapter to assist in problem
  418.            determination.  The POST diagnostic will also assist with problem
  419.            determination for the IBM PS/2 Wizard Memory Expansion Option.

  465.            These software offerings will include enhancements to DOS, OS/2 (R)
  466.            and local area network (LAN) products.

  470. OVERVIEW   STATEMENT OF GENERAL DIRECTION
  471.            IBM and Microsoft today announce a broadening of the scope of their
  472.            development partnership and have agreed to develop jointly a
  473.            consistent, full range of systems software offerings for the 1990s.
  474.            These software offerings will include enhancements to DOS, OS/2 and
  475.            local area network products.
  476.                   This statement of direction will help customers choose the
  477.            appropriate software solution for their requirements, and assist them
  478.            in planning a smooth transition to the advanced personal computing
  479.            platforms of the 1990s.  Together, IBM and Microsoft view the
  480.            "platform for the '90s" as hardware systems with Intel (2) 386 and
  481.            i486 (2) microprocessors, 4 megabytes (MB) of memory and 60MB fixed
  482.            disk drives with OS/2 and the Presentation Manager (TM) graphical
  483.            user interface.
  484.                   To reaffirm this, IBM and Microsoft announce that the majority
  485.            of their application and systems development resources will be
  486.            applied to OS/2 solutions.  Beginning in the second half of 1990, IBM
  487.            and Microsoft plan to make their graphical applications available
  488.            first on OS/2.
  489.                   Specifically, the companies jointly announce:
  490.            o   The intent to deliver a version of OS/2 that exploit the advanced
  491.                capabilities of the Intel 386 and i486 microprocessors in 1990.
  492.                This version will have advanced features such as demand paging
  493.                and the ability to run multiple DOS applications concurrently,
  494.                and it will allow applications to exploit the 32-bit flat memory
  495.                model.  Today's emerging Presentation Manager applications will
  496.                run unmodified on the new version of OS/2.
  497.            o   Availability of early development support for this new OS/2
  498.                version by year-end 1989 with a common development toolkit.
  499.                Software developers starting new high performance or server
  500.                applications targeted toward 386SX/4MB or larger systems should
  501.                build directly on the advanced Application Programming Interfaces
  502.                (APIs) of this forthcoming 32-bit version of OS/2.
  503.            o   The intent to develop OS/2 32-bit technology that is portable,
  504.                along with applications, to other hardware instruction sets, for
  505.                example, RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computing) architectures.
  506.                   Today's OS/2 1.2 is recommended for systems with at least 3MB
  507.            of memory and 30MB fixed disk drives.  IBM and Microsoft are
  508.            committed to continue to expand the range of OS/2 capable systems.
  509.            As a first step, the companies announce that more than 512KB of
  510.            memory used by the OS/2 "DOS Compatibility Box" will also be usable
  511.            by OS/2 applications when the DOS program is inactive.  This
  512.            capability will be available this year.  Both companies are making a
  513.            concerted effort to enable OS/2 for 2MB entry systems, and customers
  514.            should plan to use Microsoft Windows to implement graphical
  515.            applications on platforms with less than 2MB of memory.
  516.                   On systems with 4MB of memory, customers can take full
  517.            advantage of advanced system features such as the High Performance
  518.            File System, expanded LAN client features, and advanced applications.
  519.            OS/2 is currently best suited for customers using or building data
  520.            base applications, needing full multi-application and background
  521.            processing support, or using distributed processing solutions
  522.            requiring full LAN client support.
  523.                   OS/2 is also recommended for all server applications.  The new
  524.            32-bit version of OS/2 will be further enhanced for server
  525.            requirements.  In addition, certain advanced operating system
  526.            features such as Department of Defense security, full object oriented
  527.            capabilities, and symmetrical multi-processing will be available only
  528.            in future releases of 32-bit OS/2.
  529.                   DOS and Windows are recommended for systems with 1-2MB of
  530.            memory or fixed disk drives smaller than 30MB.  For these customers,
  531.            Windows is an excellent entry graphical workstation, because it is an
  532.            easy installation upgrade to DOS, allows the user to run existing DOS
  533.            or Windows applications, enables limited multi-application support
  534.            and provides function for a basic LAN client.  While Windows will
  535.            provide the Systems Application Architecture (TM) (SAA (TM)) user
  536.            interface, it is not planned to include the full range of SAA support
  537.            that OS/2 will provide.
  538.                   Microsoft's position is that Windows is not intended to be
  539.            used as a server, nor will future releases contain OS/2 advanced
  540.            features such as distributed processing, the 32-bit flat memory
  541.            model, threads, or long file names.  OS/2 is the recommended
  542.            operating system environment for new or existing 286/386 systems with
  543.            3MB or more of memory.

  546.                   IBM and Microsoft believe customers with OS/2 capable systems
  547.            and software developers with Windows applications will want to
  548.            migrate to OS/2.  IBM and Microsoft will provide support through
  549.            tools, seminars and technical assistance to help with the migration.
  550.                   IBM and Microsoft recommend that software developers implement
  551.            for the platform that best meets their application system
  552.            requirements.  Software developers, other than those with current
  553.            Windows projects under way, who plan to implement offerings for both
  554.            environments, are recommended to begin with OS/2.
  555.                   In addition to these announcements that focus on the desktop
  556.            environments, IBM and Microsoft also announce:
  557.            o   The two companies will work together to ensure that the Database
  558.                Manager, Communications Manager, and LAN Requestor and Server
  559.                functions of IBM's OS/2 Extended Edition are available to all
  560.                OS/2 users.  These functions of IBM's OS/2 Extended Edition
  561.                continue to be primary participants in IBM's Systems Application
  562.                Architecture strategy.
  563.            o   For local area networks, the two companies intend to converge
  564.                IBM's OS/2 LAN Server and Microsoft's LAN Manager.  These LAN
  565.                products will be designed to run on the base OS/2 operating
  566.                system in both Client and Server configurations, as LAN Manager
  567.                does today, and will exploit 386/i486 functions.
  568.                   In summary, IBM and Microsoft are reaffirming their commitment
  569.            to provide a graphical user interface on all platforms, and
  570.            significantly extending the functions of OS/2 to provide a consistent
  571.            systems software base for the hardware platforms of the '90s.
  572.                   Actual plans are subject to review.  Announcement of any
  573.            product will be based upon business and technical judgment, and
  574.            continuing review of customer requirements.

  643.            DESCRIPTION
  644.                   OS/2 Extended Edition (EE) Version 1.2 is a participant in
  645.            SAA.
  646.                   OS/2 Standard Edition (SE) Version 1.2 is used as the base for
  647.            OS/2 Extended Edition Version 1.2.  Therefore, OS/2 EE Version 1.2
  648.            benefits from the enhancements to OS/2 SE Version 1.2 described in
  649.            Programming Announcement 289-507, dated September 26, 1989.
  650.                   OS/2 EXTENDED EDITION VERSION 1.2 INSTALLATION ENHANCEMENTS
  651.                   All components of OS/2 EE Version 1.2 (OS/2 Standard Edition,
  652.            Communications Manager, Database Manager, and the LAN Requester) use
  653.            a common install process.  This new install process allows more
  654.            flexibility in the choice of functions to be installed, the ability
  655.            to disregard unwanted functions, and the ability to tailor the
  656.            install process for other users.  The OS/2 Communications Manager,
  657.            Database Manager and LAN Requester may be installed on any logical
  658.            fixed disk drive.
  659.                   Ease of installation of Communications Manager has been
  660.            enhanced through the introduction of Basic Configuration Services and
  661.            Batch Configuration support.  Basic Configuration Services is
  662.            intended to assist an end user, who does not have the support of a
  663.            systems administrator and who is relatively inexperienced in
  664.            communications, to install the program and have it running for a
  665.            number of communications environments.  Basic Configuration Services
  666.            may be used for one or more of the following:
  667.            o   3270 Emulation, directly connected via SDLC, LAN, or DFT
  668.            o   5250 Workstation Feature connected via Twinax, SDLC, or LAN
  669.                (Token-Ring only)
  670.            o   ASCII Emulation to single host
  671.            o   Database Manager's Remote Data Services configuration between one
  672.                Database Requester and Server
  673.            o   LAN Requester or Server.
  674.                   Basic Configuration Services may be supplemented with the
  675.            previously available Advanced Configuration Services to cover other
  676.            environments and additional Remote Data Services connections as
  677.            required.
  678.                   Batch Configuration support is designed to assist a systems
  679.            administrator who is supervising the installation of many similar end
  680.            users, such as members of a department or multiple branch offices.
  681.            Basic or Advanced Configuration Services support is initially used to
  682.            establish an individual prototype configuration file that is
  683.            representative of the user set.  The systems administrator then
  684.            creates an ASCII file that contains the essential differences between
  685.            individual end users.  This file and the prototype file are processed
  686.            by Batch Configuration support to build a configuration file for each
  687.            user, which is used for subsequent installation.
  688.                   IBM PROCEDURES LANGUAGE 2/REXX
  689.                   An OS/2 Extended Edition Version 1.2 user can utilize the
  690.            integrated Procedures Language 2/REXX in three ways.  First, it can
  691.            be used to write command procedures and macros for OS/2 programs.
  692.            Second, REXX may be used to write programs with embedded SQL
  693.            statements to access data (stored) in the Database Manager.  Third,
  694.            REXX may used to write programs that call the Query Manager Callable
  695.            Interface to access Query Manager functions and stored query and form
  696.            objects.  For example, from a REXX program, request the Query Manager
  697.            to retrieve a stored query, run the query to access data in the
  698.            Database Manager and format the query result using a default report
  699.            form, or a pre-defined report form.
  700.                   INTERPRETER SERVICES APIS
  701.                   The Database Manager component of OS/2 EE Version 1.2 provides
  702.            a set of Interpreter Services APIs that allow application developers
  703.            to use Database Services with languages that are not currently
  704.            supported.  In order to take advantage of these APIs, application
  705.            developers must provide a routine that is functionally equivalent to
  706.            the Procedures Language 2/REXX RxVar routine as described in the IBM
  707.            OS/2 PROCEDURES LANGUAGE 2/REXX REFERENCE MANUAL.  This user-provided
  708.            routine is used to transfer variable data between Database Services
  709.            and the calling application.
  710.                   These APIs are intended for use in applications that would not
  711.            normally use a precompiler, such as those written in an interpreted
  712.            language.  Information about these APIs will not be included in the
  713.            OS/2 EE Version 1.2 library but will be available upon request from:

  719.                   LAN REQUESTER ENHANCEMENTS
  720.                   The LAN Requester component of OS/2 EE Version 1.2 requires
  721.            the IBM OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2 to be operational.  This is a
  722.            revision to a statement contained in Programming Announcement
  723.            289-217, dated May 16, 1989, which could incorrectly imply that the
  724.            OS/2 EE Version 1.2 LAN Requester will directly attach to the OS/2
  725.            LAN Server Version 1.0.  Direct attachment to OS/2 LAN Server
  726.            Version 1.0 can be established by first logging onto a OS/2 LAN
  727.            Server Version 1.2.  For additional information, refer to OS/2 LAN
  728.            Server Version 1.2 Programming Announcement 289-623, dated
  729.            November 14, 1989.
  730.                   The LAN Requester component of OS/2 EE Version 1.2 has been
  731.            enhanced to use the same User Profile Management (UPM) used by the
  732.            other components of IBM OS/2 EE Version 1.2.  For example, the same
  733.            user ID and password can access resources controlled by either the
  734.            Database Manager component or the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2.  The
  735.            LAN Requester is a participant in the Basic Configuration Services
  736.            and Batch Configuration common install process.
  737.                   When logged on to the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2, the LAN
  738.            Requester component of OS/2 EE Version 1.2 will operate over Ethernet
  739.            DIX Version 2.0 and IEEE 802.3 LANs (hereafter referred to as
  740.            Etherand LANs).  This support is provided through the Communications
  741.            Manager component of OS/2 EE Version 1.2, which uses the Network
  742.            Driver Interface Specification (NDIS) for these two additional LAN
  743.            protocols.  The supported Etherand LAN adapters are listed in the
  744.            MACHINE REQUIREMENTS section.
  745.                   When logged on to the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2, the LAN
  746.            Requester component of OS/2 EE Version 1.2 can take advantage of
  747.            additional support provided by the IBM OS/2 LAN API.  Several new
  748.            categories of APIs are supported, as well as additional calls to LAN
  749.            API categories already supported by IBM's OS/2 EE Version 1.2 LAN
  750.            Requester.  These APIs give the application programmer a set of calls
  751.            for LAN interprocess communications, network management, network
  752.            messaging, shared resource management, security and network services.
  753.            The API categories supported are:
  754.            o   ACCESS PERMISSION:  Examine or modify user and group access
  755.                permission records for server resources
  756.            o   ALERT:  Notification of network events
  757.            o   AUDITING:  Control the audit log file that contains an audit
  758.                trail of server operations
  759.            o   CONFIGURATION:  Retrieve network configuration information
  760.            o   CONNECTION:  List of all connections made to a server by a
  761.                requester client, or all connections made to a server's shared
  762.                resources
  763.            o   DOMAIN:  Obtain domain-specific information
  764.            o   ERROR LOGGING:  Control the error log file
  765.            o   FILE:  Monitoring which file, device and pipe resources are
  766.                opened on a server and closing one of the resources if necessary
  767.            o   GROUP:  Control user groups in the User Accounts Subsystem

  778.            o   SERVER:  Enable remote administration tasks to be performed on a
  779.                local or remote server

  781.            o   SESSION:  Control network sessions established between requesters
  782.                and servers
  783.            o   SHARE:  Control shared resources
  784.            o   SPOOLER:  Application access to spooler queue manager operations
  785.                (NOTE:  This API category replaces the PRINT API category
  786.                previously announced.)
  787.            o   STATISTICS:  Retrieve and clear operational statistics for
  788.                requesters
  789.            o   USE:  Examine or control connections (uses) between requesters
  790.                and servers
  791.            o   USER:  Control a user's account in the User Account Subsystem
  792.                   For a complete list of the APIs supported by OS/2 Extended
  793.            Edition Version 1.2 Requester, refer to the IBM OS/2 LAN SERVER
  794.            VERSION 1.2 APPLICATION PROGRAMMER'S REFERENCE (S01F-0256-00).
  795.                   COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER ENHANCEMENTS
  796.                   New functions within the Communications Manager allow OS/2 EE
  797.            applications to access host applications using LU0.
  798.                   These new functions will also allow:
  799.            o   Communications support for LU0 terminal functions
  800.            o   A migration path for LU0-based applications
  801.            o   Workable replacements for LU0 based control units
  802.            o   Base communications for LU1, 2, and 3 emulators (this is in
  803.                addition to the LU1, 2, 3, and 6.2 support previously announced).
  804.                   Communication is enabled through the use of two programming
  805.            interfaces.  The Session Level Interface (SLI) is a higher level data
  806.            stream interface that will normally be used by customer applications.
  807.            The SNA Request Unit Interface (RUI) is at a lower level and is
  808.            intended for system programming but is also available for customer
  809.            use.  Programming language support for both SLI and RUI include the
  810.            C/2 (TM), COBOL/2 (TM), Pascal/2 and Macro Assembler/2 (TM)
  811.            compilers.  Collectively, SLI and RUI are referred to as Conventional
  812.            LU Application (LUA).
  813.                   Links supported are X.25, Token-Ring Network, SDLC, and
  814.            Personal Computer Network, either direct to a host or through an
  815.            OS/2 EE SNA gateway.  The workstation is supported as an SNA
  816.            secondary, dependent logical unit.
  817.                   EHLLAPI has been enhanced with new functions that may be used
  818.            by applications in the Presentation Manager (TM) environment.  These
  819.            functions may be used by the application to manage the size and
  820.            visibility of the 3270 emulation session windows.
  821.                   X.25 support does not require the use of a Packet Switched
  822.            Data Network (PSDN).  X.25 may be used between IBM systems and
  823.            Personal System/2 (R) (PS/2 (R)) systems using supported compatible
  824.            X.25 links, other than PSDN.
  825.                   VSE/SP V4 works with OS/2 EE Version 1.2 to support 3270 and
  826.            ASCII file transfers.

  830.                   DATABASE MANAGER ENHANCEMENTS
  831.                   The Database Manager supports X.25 connectivity as provided by
  832.            the Communications Manager.  This provides support for the Database
  833.            Manager Remote Data Services, between OS/2 workstations connected to
  834.            an X.25 network.
  835.                   The SQL/QMF facility supports the download of data from DB/2
  836.            (TM) and SQL/DS, and has been enhanced to provide the ability to
  837.            specify automatic table creation and automatic import of data at the
  838.            time the command is issued.
  839.                   The Query Manager menus and panels functions have been
  840.            enhanced in the areas of screen definition and layout as well as
  841.            enabling the execution of panel actions from Query Manager
  842.            procedures.  This allows more flexibility in the design of custom
  843.            applications.
  844.                   DOS COMPATIBILITY MODE ENHANCEMENTS
  845.                   Approximately 30KB of additional memory is available for DOS
  846.            applications as compared to the same environment in OS/2 EE
  847.            Version 1.1.  When IBM Token-Ring Network is used, approximately 65KB
  848.            of additional memory is available for DOS applications.

  1017.                   The SY-TOS/IBM 6157 Tape Utilities are stand-alone programs
  1018.            that may be used to save and restore files created and maintained by
  1019.            OS/2.  The IBM 6157 Streaming Tape Drive is not supported by OS/2 as
  1020.            an input/output device.
  1021.                   The OS/2 version of the SY-TOS/IBM 6157 Tape Utilities
  1022.            Version 3.0 supports OS/2 Version 1.2 with the following limitations:
  1023.            o   High Performance File System (HPFS) long filename enhancements
  1024.                are not supported
  1025.            o   HPFS extended attribute enhancements are not supported.
  1026.                   Since SY-TOS Version 3.0 does not recognize these as valid
  1027.            filenames a separate verify cycle will falsely indicate "All Files
  1028.            Verified." Users should continue to use the DOS filename convention
  1029.            (8chr.3chr) for files to be saved to or restored from the tape drive.
  1030.                   Modification of CONFIG.SYS and copying of the Adapter
  1031.            Description File (ADF file) to the system Reference Diskette must be
  1032.            done manually rather than through the SY-TOS installation utility to
  1033.            ensure the preservation of long pathnames within CONFIG.SYS.  For

  1035.                   Print Performance Limitation:
  1036.                   Presentation Manager Device Driver support of some
  1037.            graphics-capable printers, such as the Proprinter (TM) series,
  1038.            utilizes graphics mode.  This will have a noticeable effect on text
  1039.            print speed for applications using the Graphics Programming Interface
  1040.            (GPI), including 3270 Print Screen and Host Directed Print
  1041.            operations, under the Communications Manager.

  1043.            PLANNING INFORMATION
  1044.            LAN SUPPORT PROGRAM VERSION 1.1 FUNCTION INCLUDED IN OS/2 LAN SERVER
  1045.            VERSION 1.2:  The DOS Data Base Requester function provided by the
  1046.            Database Manager component of OS/ 2 Extended Edition Version 1.2
  1047.            requires the IBM LAN Support Program Version 1.1 and DOS 3.3 or
  1048.            higher.  If a DOS workstation installs the DOS Data Base Requester
  1049.            and the DOS LAN Requester component of the IBM OS/2 LAN Server
  1050.            Version 1.2 program, then the LAN Support Program Version 1.1 is not
  1051.            required.  Refer to Programming Announcement 289-623, dated
  1052.            November 14, 1989, for details of OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2.
  1053.            EXTENSIONS TO AUTHORIZED USE:  Notwithstanding the section of the IBM
  1054.            Program License Agreement entitled "License," the user is authorized,
  1055.            without additional payment to IBM, to make and use up to 128 copies
  1056.            of the DOS Data Base Requester Library (DBDRQLIB) or any part
  1057.            thereof, in support of this licensed program.  The number of DOS data
  1058.            base requesters that the data base server included in the OS/2 EE
  1059.            Version 1.2 can support is dependent on the data base server system's
  1060.            available memory and fixed disk capacity.  Refer to the attached
  1061.            Memory and Fixed Disk Estimating Worksheets to determine the maximum
  1062.            number of concurrent data base requesters for a data base server.

  1067.                   CERTIFICATION OF ASYNCHRONOUS MODEM TESTING
  1068.                   National Software Testing Laboratories, Inc.  (NSTL) is an
  1069.            independent laboratory offering asynchronous modem testing services
  1070.            for the OS/2 EE Communications Manager.  Manufacturers of
  1071.            asynchronous modems that are designed to operate in the United States
  1072.            can, for a fee, submit their modems to NSTL for testing.  Those
  1073.            manufacturers whose modems are certified by NSTL will have
  1074.            information about their modem command strings and procedures made
  1075.            available to customers by IBM.  The NSTL telephone number is (215)
  1076.            941-9600.  IBM has not discussed customer requirements with any of
  1077.            the asynchronous modem manufacturers.  In addition, the information
  1078.            IBM will make available is not meant in any way to constitute an
  1079.            exhaustive list, nor are any of the manufacturer's products
  1080.            specifically recommended or endorsed by IBM.
  1081.                   The attached Memory and Fixed Disk Estimating Worksheets can

  1352.            size for the operating system base to the size for each installed

  1355.                   The numbers shown in the above worksheet give the recommended
  1356.            memory size in MB for concurrent operation of designated OS/2 (R)
  1357.            functions.  These numbers reflect the working set of the OS/2
  1358.            functions listed, not the total size of all the code and data areas
  1359.            that comprise the functions.  The quantities shown assume an
  1360.            acceptable degree of swapping.  Refer to "Memory Management
  1361.            Techniques" in the OS/2 INFORMATION AND PLANNING GUIDE for a
  1362.            description of the method used to develop these quantities.
  1363.                   The memory requirement is less if the user does not execute
  1364.            all installed functions and applications concurrently.  In that case,
  1365.            the required memory size is the sum of the base operating system and
  1366.            the particular functions and applications the user wishes to execute
  1367.            concurrently, plus an allowance for user data.  Using less than the
  1368.            recommended memory size may increase the time to switch from one
  1369.            function or application to another, reduce keystroke responsiveness,
  1370.            reduce throughput, and increase the size of the swap data file
  1371.            (identified in the following worksheet).

  1495.            DESCRIPTION
  1496.            DOS LAN REQUESTER:  The DOS LAN Requester (DLR) is the component of
  1497.            the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2 that allows IBM DOS Version 3.3 and
  1498.            IBM DOS Version 4.0 workstation users to access resources controlled
  1499.            by OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2.  The DLR replaces the IBM PCLP
  1500.            Version 1.3 Extended Services requesters on a network domain when
  1501.            connected to OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2.  The conversion from PCLP
  1502.            Version 1.3 to DLR is via a PCLP-like menu option.  This option
  1503.            removes the PCLP Version 1.3 requester modules from the workstation
  1504.            and replaces them with DLR modules by downloading the DLR modules
  1505.            from OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2.  DLR provides enhancements over
  1506.            IBM's PCLP Version 1.3 in the areas of security, useability, random
  1507.            access memory (RAM) requirements and LAN Application Programming
  1508.            Interfaces (APIs).  The LAN Support Program Version 1.1 is included
  1509.            in the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2 for use with each copy of the DLR.
  1510.            NOTE:  Other IBM DOS products requiring the LAN Support Program
  1511.            Version 1.1 may use the LAN Support Program Version 1.1 included in
  1512.            the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2 when the DOS workstation also has the
  1513.            DLR installed.
  1514.                   DLR requires a user to successfully logon to the OS/2 LAN
  1515.            Server Version 1.2 before access to any LAN resources are allowed.
  1516.            Validation of resource access is always determined by the logon
  1517.            user ID.  DLR is granted access to resources of the OS/2 LAN Server
  1518.            Version 1.2 using the same access control system as the OS/2 EE
  1519.            Version 1.2 Requester.
  1520.                   DLR useability allows the user the flexibility to perform
  1521.            network tasks, including logon, from both the Full Screen Interface
  1522.            and the Command Line Interface.  Once logon is complete, a user may
  1523.            select one of eight color combinations for the DLR display panels.
  1524.            In addition, local applications can now be added to the DLR
  1525.            Application Selector.  These local applications, which reside on the
  1526.            local machines' fixed disk drive, may also be defined in separate
  1527.            groups and referenced by a unique group name.  There is a maximum of
  1528.            eight user-defined unique group names available.  From the two
  1529.            pre-defined application groups (LAN Services and Served Applications)
  1530.            and the user-defined groups, the user selects which group to make
  1531.            current.  A list of the current group's applications is then
  1532.            displayed.
  1533.                   RAM is available to DOS applications and can be increased by
  1534.            approximately 10KB to 20KB when using DOS Version 3.3, and 25KB to
  1535.            35KB when using DOS Version 4.0, versus comparable configurations
  1536.            provided by PCLP Version 1.3.  This memory savings can be achieved by
  1537.            using the first 64K segment of RAM above the 1MB address in IBM's
  1538.            80286 or 80386-based machines equipped with extended memory.  Or this
  1539.            memory savings can also be achieved when using IBM machines that use
  1540.            the IBM Expanded Memory Adapter with support for the Lotus, Intel,
  1541.            and Microsoft (2) (LIM) Expanded Memory Specification (EMS)
  1542.            Version 4.0 provided by DOS Version 4.0.
  1543.                   Applications can be developed for the DLR that will utilize a
  1544.            rich subset of the same API calls supported by the OS/2 LAN API.
  1545.            Most of the API categories defined and supported in the OS/2 EE
  1546.            Version 1.2 LAN Requester and OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2 will also
  1547.            be supported by the DLR.  The API categories that are available to
  1548.            applications running with the DLR are Access Permission, Auditing,
  1549.            Configuration, Connection, Domain, File, Group, Handle, Mailslot,
  1550.            Message, Named Pipe, Remote Utility, Requester, Serial Device,
  1551.            Server, Service, Session, Share, Statistics, Use and User.  For a
  1552.            complete list of APIs supported by DLR, refer to IBM OS/2 LAN SERVER
  1553.            VERSION 1.2 APPLICATION PROGRAMMER'S REFERENCE (S01F-0256-00).

  1555.            OS/2 EXTENDED EDITION VERSION 1.2 REQUESTER:  The OS/2 LAN Requester
  1556.            component of the OS/2 EE Version 1.2 has been enhanced to use the
  1557.            same User Profile Management (UPM) used by other components of the
  1558.            OS/2 EE Version 1.2.  As an example, the same user ID and password
  1559.            can access resources controlled by either the Database Manager
  1560.            component or the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2.
  1561.                   The OS/2 LAN Requester is a participant in the Basic
  1562.            Configuration Services and Batch Configuration common install
  1563.            processes with the other Communications Manager and Database Manager
  1564.            components of the OS/2 EE Version 1.2.  These new install processes
  1565.            allow more flexibility in the choice of functions to be installed,
  1566.            the ability to remove unwanted functions, and the ability to tailor
  1567.            the install process for other users.  The LAN Requester may be
  1568.            installed on any logical fixed disk drive (that is, C, D or E).
  1569.                   When logged on to the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2, the OS/2
  1570.            LAN Requester will operate over Ethernet DIX Version 2.0 and IEEE
  1571.            802.3 LANs (Etherand (TM) LANs).  This support is provided through
  1572.            the Communications Manager component of OS/2 EE Version 1.2 that uses
  1573.            the Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS) for these two
  1574.            additional LAN protocols.
  1575.                   When logged on to the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2, the OS/2
  1576.            LAN Requester can take advantage of additional support provided by
  1577.            the OS/2 LAN APIs.  Several new categories of APIs will be supported,
  1578.            as well as additional calls to LAN API categories already announced
  1579.            as supported under OS/2 EE Version 1.2 LAN Requester.  These APIs
  1580.            give the application programmer a set of calls for LAN interprocess
  1581.            communications, network management, network messaging, shared
  1582.            resource management, security and network services.  API categories
  1583.            that are supported are:

  1625.            UTILIZATION OF IBM OS/2 EE VERSION 1.2:  OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2
  1626.            can take advantage of, and use features of, the new and enhanced OS/2
  1627.            EE Version 1.2.  These include the High Performance File System
  1628.            (HPFS).  HPFS is an attractive alternative to the File Allocation
  1629.            Table (FAT) or FAT-based file system because it supports DASD with as
  1630.            many as 16 partitions and can handle partitions as large as two
  1631.            gigabytes.  The HPFS maintains compatibility with the FAT file system
  1632.            at the API level and is less performance sensitive as file sizes
  1633.            and/or directories become very large.  The system installation
  1634.            procedure is used to install the HPFS.  The OS/2 LAN Server
  1635.            Version 1.2, when operating with the HFPS, will have improved
  1636.            performance over the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.0, particularly for
  1637.            random operations.
  1638.                   With the enhanced OS/2 EE Version 1.2, the OS/2 LAN Server
  1639.            Version 1.2 can now support a total of up to 8,000 open files.  This
  1640.            is an increase from the previous allowable maximum of 255 open files.
  1641.            ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SERVER RESOURCES:  The access control
  1642.            system has been enhanced to provide a higher level of control over
  1643.            LAN Server resources than was available with OS/2 LAN Server
  1644.            Version 1.0.  The access control system provides a means to protect
  1645.            LAN Server resources based on permissions assigned to a user or
  1646.            groups of users.  No access is allowed to a server resource unless
  1647.            explicitly specified.
  1648.                   The permissions available with OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2
  1649.            provide more granularity than available with the original OS/2 LAN
  1650.            Server Version 1.0.  The permissions are:  NONE, EXECUTE, READ,
  1651.            WRITE, CREATE, DELETE, ATTRIBUTE and PERMISSION.  NONE, EXECUTE and
  1652.            READ remain unchanged.  READ and WRITE used in combination replace
  1653.            UPDATE.  EXECUTE, READ, WRITE, CREATE, DELETE, ATTRIBUTE and
  1654.            PERMISSION replace ALTER.  All permissions, except NONE, may be used
  1655.            in combination with any other.
  1656.                   The Command Line Interface has also been enhanced to support
  1657.            management of the users, groups, aliases and access control profiles.
  1658.                   Access management of resources across OS/2 LAN Server
  1659.            Version 1.2 domains has been simplified with the introduction of
  1660.            guests.  A guest account may be created for a domain.  Whenever a
  1661.            user tries to access a resource, such as an external alias, on a
  1662.            domain where the user is not defined, the permissions associated with
  1663.            the guest account will be used.
  1664.            FILE REPLICATION SERVICE:  The new File Replication Service provides
  1665.            the ability for an OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2 to replicate all or
  1666.            part of a directory tree over the LAN to either another machine
  1667.            running the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2 or to a workstation machine
  1668.            running the OS/2 EE Version 1.2 Requester component.  The replication
  1669.            service also allows for the replication of information locally,
  1670.            without use of the LAN, to provide a local duplication capability.
  1671.            The source of all replicated information is specified as a directory,
  1672.            with all associated subdirectories.  Likewise, the target of all
  1673.            replicated information is another directory, with subdirectory
  1674.            structure matching the source.  Each target can replicate only the
  1675.            directories that it requires.  The source can set the level of
  1676.            replication to either the entire tree or file by file.  The OS/2 LAN
  1677.            Server Version 1.2 replication source checks for changes in the
  1678.            directories to be replicated at user-defined intervals and notifies
  1679.            target machines of any changes that occur during the intervals.  The
  1680.            target machines then perform updates.
  1681.            REQUESTER ACCESS TO LAN SERVER RESOURCES:  Any mix of OS/2 EE
  1682.            Version 1.2 or Version 1.1, DLR, or PCLP Version 1.3 requesters may
  1683.            be active on a single OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2.  (Refer to Figures
  1684.            1 and 2).  Refer to the PERFORMANCE CONSIDERATIONS section below for
  1685.            factors that influence the practical limit of active workstations.
  1686.                   The following describes the IBM requester access of server
  1687.            resources over a LAN.  This description focuses on three specific
  1688.            areas:
  1689.            o   Logon to a domain (a domain is a logically defined server or
  1690.                group of server machines including the resources and definitions
  1691.                of the resources and users controlled by the servers)
  1692.            o   Administration of a domain
  1693.            o   Cross domain access of resources (that are in a domain other than
  1694.                the domain logged on to by the user).
  1695.                   Supported combinations of logon and administration are defined
  1696.            in Figure 1.  The three domains addressed are those that consist of
  1697.            PCLP Version 1.3 Servers, OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.0 (LS1.0), and
  1698.            OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2 (LS1.2).  The requesters addressed are
  1699.            the PCLP Extended Services (ES) Requester, OS/2 EE Version 1.1
  1700.            (EE1.1) Requester, OS/2 EE Version 1.2 (EE1.2) Requester, and DOS LAN
  1701.            Requester (DLR).  An "X" in the figure indicates the stated function
  1702.            (logon/administration) that is supported from the Full Screen
  1703.            Interface.  For example, a user can use a PCLP Requester to log on to
  1704.            a domain consisting of OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.0 servers and access
  1705.            all domain resources available to that user ID, but will not be able
  1706.            to perform any administration tasks in that domain.  Note that within
  1707.            a domain only like server types may be defined.

  1720.            external resources definitions, which is a Full Screen Interface
  1721.            function, through the use of appropriate APIs or by using explicit
  1722.            NET SHARE and NET USE commands.  Accessing external resources via
  1723.            external resources definitions is defined in Figure 2.  Specifically,
  1724.            once a user has logged on to a domain, accessing resources in another
  1725.            domain is supported through the external resource definition
  1726.            function.  For example, for an EE Version 1.1 user logged on to an

  1740.            SERVER MIGRATION UTILITY FROM IBM PC LAN PROGRAM VERSION 1.3 AND OS/2
  1741.            LAN SERVER VERSION 1.0:  A Domain Control Data Base (DCDB) Migration
  1742.            Utility is provided to assist in the migration from the DCDBs of the
  1743.            PCLP Version 1.3 and the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.0 to the OS/2 LAN
  1744.            Server Version 1.2.  This Migration Utility provides a procedure for
  1745.            migration and preserves the data integrity and consistency of the
  1746.            definitions in the domain.
  1747.                   The Migration Utility consists of two logical parts -- an
  1748.            Export Facility to export the data from the previous DCDB (PCLP
  1749.            Version 1.3 or OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.0) and an Import Facility to
  1750.            import that data into the new OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2 DCDB.
  1751.                   With the User Profile Management subsystem and access control
  1752.            system security features of the OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2 in
  1753.            combination with the OS/2 EE Version 1.2 Requester, there are changes
  1754.            in the DCDB attributes and formats.  This Migration Utility will
  1755.            perform the mapping of attributes internally, providing transparent
  1756.            operation to the user.
  1757.                   The definitions of the LAN objects, such as users, groups and
  1758.            the access control profiles, are migrated by the utility.  The
  1759.            resources themselves, such as files and printers, need to be
  1760.            physically migrated by the Network Administrator.
  1761.            NATIONAL LANGUAGE SUPPORT:  OS/2 LAN Server Version 1.2 is enabled
  1762.            for single-byte character set (SBCS) and double-byte character set
  1763.            (DBCS) translation with the exception of DLR, which is not DBCS
  1764.            enabled.

  2004.            include incorporation of selected device drivers in OS/2 releases and
  2005.            delivery of device drivers with the associated hardware devices.

  2009. OVERVIEW   DESCRIPTION
  2010.                   IBM announces a pilot OS/2 Electronic Device Driver
  2011.            Distribution Mechanism that allows for the distribution of OS/2
  2012.            device drivers independently of OS/2 releases.  This mechanism is
  2013.            designed to provide efficient distribution of OS/2 device drivers.
  2014.                   IBM plans to add new device drivers to the pilot program as
  2015.            they become available.
  2016.            OBTAINING AN OS/2 DEVICE DRIVER
  2017.            ELECTRONIC DISTRIBUTION:  For licensees of OS/2 with a modem that
  2018.            supports 1200 baud or more, the Personal Computer User Group (PCUG)
  2019.            has expanded its facilities to allow direct end-user access to the
  2020.            device driver file sections.  This system can be accessed at (404)
  2021.            988-2790.  The PCUG Support Bulletin Board contains the OS/2 device
  2022.            drivers in a format suitable for downloading.  The PCUG Support
  2023.            Bulletin Board is available on a 24-hour basis to end users through a
  2024.            toll call with no access charge.
  2025.                   Requirements for the asynchronous electronic connection to the
  2026.            PCUG Support Bulletin Board are:
  2027.            o   Communication software capable of supporting XMODEM file transfer
  2028.                protocols
  2029.            o   Switched telephone line.
  2030.                   The modem should be set to:
  2031.            o   Eight data bits
  2032.            o   One stop bit
  2033.            o   No parity
  2034.            o   Standard transmission speed from 1200 to 9600 baud.
  2035.            SUPPLEMENTAL DISTRIBUTION:  The objective of this pilot program is
  2036.            that customers, with a modem supporting 1200 baud or more, may
  2037.            benefit by obtaining new OS/2 device drivers via download from the
  2038.            PCUG Bulletin Board.
  2039.                   Customers without the required modem should contact an IBM
  2040.            Authorized Personal Computer Dealer or an IBM Authorized Industry
  2041.            Remarketer.
  2042.                   Customers without the required modem for electronic
  2043.            distribution and who have been unable to obtain an OS/2 device driver
  2044.            from an Authorized Personal Computer Dealer or an IBM Authorized
  2045.            Industry Remarketer may contact their IBM representative to obtain
  2046.            available OS/2 device drivers.
  2047.            ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  2048.                   This mechanism is a pilot program and may be discontinued at
  2049.            the discretion of IBM.  This pilot program is planned to include
  2050.            selected device drivers for non-IBM hardware devices.  These device
  2051.            drivers are obtained by IBM from the hardware developer and are
  2052.            included in the IBM distribution mechanism as a convenience to IBM
  2053.            customers.  Hardware developers remain responsible for their own
  2054.            distribution of OS/2 device drivers for their hardware devices.
  2055.            Inclusion of non-IBM device drivers in the IBM pilot program is not
  2056.            intended as an endorsement of any non-IBM products.
  2057.                   IBM will not assure the compatibility or functionality of the
  2058.            non-IBM device drivers or hardware devices with OS/2.  The customer
  2059.            should contact the hardware developer directly about the suitability
  2060.            of the device drivers for the customer's equipment and requirements.
  2061.                   The initial offering for this pilot program is:
  2062.                The IBM LaserPrinter (4019) device driver for IBM OS/2 Standard
  2063.                Edition and Extended Edition Versions 1.1 that supports multiple
  2064.                graphic resolutions, multiple paper sources, font cards, and
  2065.                downloaded fonts.
  2066.                       NOTE:  The IBM LaserPrinter (4019) device driver for OS/2
  2067.                Standard Edition and Extended Edition Versions 1.2 is contained
  2068.                within OS/2 Standard Edition and Extended Edition Versions 1.2.
  2069.                   In addition, a generic Printer Control Language device driver
  2070.            for OS/2 Standard Edition and Extended Edition Versions 1.2 that
  2071.            supports printers compatible with the Hewlett-Packard LaserJet (1)
  2072.            and LaserJet II series of printers will be available

  2105.            CHARGES
  2106.                   The IBM and non-IBM OS/2 device drivers are available from IBM
