  26.  Lee, I'm hearing there are questions about IBM's commitment to OS/2                                                                
  27.  based on reports of my upcoming meeting with Bill Gates.  That's just                                                              
  28.  nonsense.  I'm meeting with many people in our industry -- customers,                                                              
  29.  partners, and competitors -- as well as many within IBM, to get                                                                    
  30.  acquainted and to get a sense of the industry and of IBM.  For someone                                                             
  31.  to assume that I'm negotiating product strategies in these meetings                                                                
  32.  would be a serious mistake.  I'm not doing that.                                                                                   
  33.                                                                                                                                     
  34.  My job is to get the right people in place and give them the support                                                               
  35.  they need to compete.  When I reviewed your plans with you and your team,                                                          
  36.  I was impressed with the progress you've made and where you're heading.                                                            
  37.  You and your team have the lead on this and my support in moving forward.
