OS/2 MONTHLY NAMES BOOK OF THE YEAR
May 10, 1993
OS/2 Monthly has named "Client/Server Programming with OS/2 2.0
(Second Edition)" book of the year. Commenting on the award selection
in the June 1993 issue, Joel Siragher, Publisher of OS/2 Monthly,
writes in his Publisher Notes:
"I thought long and hard about the OS/2 Book of the year award.
From the many new-user books to the many technical books, I had
to choose Robert Orfali and Dan Harkey's "Client/Server Programming
with OS/2 2.0 (Second Edition)". The writing style is clear
and informative. It stresses programming by example throughout
its 1112 pages. There is much to learn here and the book offers
it in a very straightforward and entertaining way. This latest
edition contains over 600 new pages covering: SOM & WPS class
libraries; DRDA using DDCS/2; new communications programs, including
Novell's NetWare Requester, TCP/IP, and CPI-C; and the 32-bit C Set/2
compiler.
"Client/Server Programming with OS/2 2.0 (Second Edition)" can
be ordered from IBM Mechanicsburg as publication number G325-0650-01.
