  1. SOFTWARE VENDORS ANNOUNCE SUPPORT FOR DB2/2

  5.       SOMERS, N.Y. . . . More than 25 software solution                                                                             
  6.  providers announced today they will support IBM DATABASE/2* OS/2*                                                                  
  7.  (DB2/2*) in 1993. The companies participated in a Developer                                                                        
  8.  Assistance Program, sponsored by IBM Programming Systems (PRGS),                                                                   
  9.  which developed DB2/2. The program is designed to secure feedback                                                                  
  10.  from professional developers and to provide those developers with                                                                  
  11.  an opportunity to enhance their products with support of DB2/2.                                                                    
  12.       "DB2/2 is a leader in LAN RDBMS (relational database                                                                          
  13.  management systems) price/performance and provides sophisticated                                                                   
  14.  database management, connectivity and networking," said Anu                                                                        
  15.  Shukla, vice president of worldwide marketing, Uniface                                                                             
  16.  Corporation, a participant in the ESP. "Uniface found it very                                                                      
  17.  straightforward to build an interface which takes full advantage                                                                   
  18.  of DB2/2 features.  We expect that the combination of DB2/2 and                                                                    
  19.  UNIFACE will enable organizations to quickly and easily build and                                                                  
  20.  deploy enterprise client/server applications."
