  1. OS/2 2.0 SERVICE PAK FOR PRE-LOADED SYSTEMS NOW AVAILABLE

  5. The Service Pak for OS/2 2.0, XR06055, is now supported on OS/2 2.0
  6. Pre-loaded systems.  It is not necessary to order this Service Pak
  7. if you have not experienced problems running OS/2 2.0.
  8.  
  9. Ordering the Service Pak
  10. ------------------------
  11. Electronic Delivery of the Service Pak is available from the systems
  12. below.  Some of these systems may not be available outside the U.S.
  13. Customers requiring the Service Pak in those countries should contact
  14. their Service Representative or their place of purchase.
  15.  
  16. If you reside in the U.S. and do not have access to any of the systems,
  17. or if you need the Service Pak delivered on diskettes, you may request
  18. the Service Pak by calling 1-800-3-IBM-OS2.  The Service Pak consists of
  19. 14 3-1/2 inch diskettes or sixteen 5-1/4-inch diskettes, and will be
  20. shipped for a fee of $24.95 to cover the cost of diskettes, shipping and
  21. handling.  Orders placed through this number require a valid credit
  22. card.  When ordering diskettes, please specify either the 3-1/2 or the
  23. 5-1/4-inch diskette size.

  25. Customers may make an equal number of copies of the Service Pak as the
  26. number of licensed copies of OS/2 2.0 they own.

  28. o IBM OS/2 BBS - If you are a subscriber to the OS2 BBS, you may
  29.   download the Service Pak from the Software Download Library.  United
  30.   States customers who are not subscribers can call 1-800-547-1283 for
  31.   information on how to subscribe.

  33. o CompuServe - Members of the CompuServe Information Service may
  34.   download the Service Pak from the IBM OS2 Forum Library (GO IBMSERV).

  36. o Internet - Customers with access to Internet services can download the
  37.   Service Pak from the network.  Customers should do an Anonymous FTP
  38.   from the "software.watson.ibm.com" or IP address 129.34.139.5. The
  39.   Service Pak is located in the "/pub/os2" directory.

  41. o IBM NSC BBS -  Customers can call the IBM National Support Center BBS
  42.   in Atlanta, GA and download the Service Pak.  The Service Pak is
  43.   located in "Corrective Service Software, Directory 04".  Type "CSD" at
  44.   the main menu.  You can access the NSC BBS by dialing 1-404-835-6600
  45.   via your communications modem.

  47. o Toolcat OS2CSD (IBM Internal Use Only) - IBMers with access to the IBM
  48.   network may download the Service Pak from the OS2CSD repository.

  50. Installing the Service Pak
  51. --------------------------
  52. Before installing the Service Pak, you must create an empty file on
  53. diskette 1 and 2 of the Service Pak. To create the empty files,
  54. insert diskette 1 into drive A and follow these instructions from
  55. the C prompt:

  57. 1.COPY CON A:OVERRIDE
  58. 2.Press the ENTER Key two times
  59. 3.Press the combination keys CTRL + Z
  60. 4.Repeat steps 1-3 for diskette 2.

  62. After creating the file named OVERRIDE on diskettes 1 and 2, place
  63. diskette 1 in the A drive and type A:SERVICE and press the ENTER KEY to
  64. start the installation.  This PM application will guide you through the
  65. service procedure.  After service is completed you will need to reboot
  66. your system.
